Residents in each others beds and in rooms. Not able to control the lice problem or scabies problem. Always working shortstaffed, having to come in sick because you have to find your own coverage and if not able to it does not matter if you have a fever or not you are expected to come in or you get written up. It took about one month for the staff to increase his strength, stamina and he gained 10 pounds. His pain level receded and his need for pain medication was dramatically reduced. He states His time at the Edwinola was the best days he had in the past 2 years. The staff was outstanding in every respect and the food was exceptional. They made rounds every 2 hours and staff was pleasant, friendly and helpful. There was true compassion from the staff and among the residents. This is an outstanding facility.

They're grossly understaffed. Simple things like help with mobility and feeding those in need is lacking. People fall often, and we personally know of 3-4 residents who fell and passed away in the last yr. My relative passed sooner than they would have and I blame low level of care. Some days if I did not bring protein shakes, give them water they'd likely have had none. May be this way at other facilities of this type but a word to the wise, watch your loved ones in ALF, Skilled Nursing and especially memory care residents.
