The windy dirt road leading up to the resort was something this city girl was not used to, and the lack of signs for the resort was a little disconcerting as well. But once you get there, the main office where you check in is conveniently located right behind the stone gates where you first enter the resort. The view of the mountain and the lake is magnificent, the food catered at the wedding was delicious, and the activity center was fully equipped with badminton, ping pong, swings, kids play house, bocce ball, soccer, basketball.. etc. Overall, great vacation at a great resort. Highly recommended if you want to get away from reality for a few days.

It is a meticulously maintained place, with scattered cabins surrounding a small lake and mountains. It feels private, safe, and secluded. The campsite was gorgeous, too. (I am a thin person so can't imagine a heavier person trying to sleep) Eventually fell asleep but woke up crippled, in extreme back pain. I'm not prone to back issues but this did me in, three days later and still in pain. not happy, I would have been better off sleeping in my car.

Before our visit, I called with a few simple questions and was met with rudeness and an unhelpful attitude from the manager. Unfortunately, that didn't improve in person--he remained curt and dismissive throughout our interactions. Once you are checked in you are on your own. The staff do NOT tidy or clean or replenish the rooms. If you need more towels, soap, etc. (that normally get replenished daily at every other motel/inn/hotel) you have to track someone down and ask - every day. The property itself was also a letdown. The grounds and firepits were littered with cigarette butts, the barbecues were broken and filthy, and the picnic tables hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Landscaping was poorly maintained--grass clippings were left to rot along the shoreline, making the whole area feel neglected and unkempt. Because it's expensive to stay here, we expected a clean, welcoming environment and received the opposite. Sadly, we can't recommend this place to anyone.

There's a cafe attached to the hotel with very good home-cooked meals. Much of what they serve is house-made (fresh home-made bread for your morning's toast). Food can be a bit slow to come out of the kitchen when they're busy, but it's worth the wait, and it's not crazy-long, just a bit long.
