Carl L.

I've been a good customer at this branch for almost 10 years, I've never been overdrawn, never bounced a check and have a great credit score in the 700's Due to this corona virus my business was failing so I applied for and was granted a loan from the SBA to help me through this very difficult time. The money was deposited into my account yesterday so I arrived at 9:am eager to withdraw $2000 to pay off a past due credit card and even though I had $2000 in my account the teller,Bre Evans called her manager, Elvira Flores who I've seen for many years there. They told me that they would have to call and verify that the SBA really authorized the $25,000 loan. I said "why?, I already have $2000 in my account that has nothing to do with the loan".so give me my $2000 so I can go pay my bills. Quit wasting my time because my handicapped brother is waiting in the car. Those dumbasses kept me waiting for over 45 minutes to verify that the SBA really and truly directly deposited that money. Now I don't understand why they thought I was someone to interrogate. Because the manager started asking me all kinds of questions about my business and what kind of work I did and the name etc. I was f-ing pissed . My app on my phone said available funds was over $27,000. Why after 10 f-ing years will you interrogate me and refuse to hand me my money making me and my disability blind brother wait 45 minutes for your suspicions?. After they knew how I felt about being scrutinized I demanded the entire $27,000 in cash and closed my account. I then remembered how Wells Fargo treated me when I needed a personal loan. They were quick to hand it over but the $3000 I borrowed would have cost me nearly $6000 in repayment. Im so glad I borrowed from the OCCU as quick as I could just to give Wells Fargo back the $3000 they so eagerly wanted to loan me. The Orange County Credit Union (OCCU) is the only place that has ever helped me during this epidemic they never trick or gouge me or scrutinize or question any of my large deposits. I told you as-oles at Wells Fargo that I would Yelp from the rooftops about how after 10 years of a perfect Banking record you have the nerve and unmitigated gall to make me wait 45 minutes and not handing over MY MONEY. You can kiss my you know what. WELLS FARGO. and your manager.

Waiting for a banker,

I'm honestly emotional even writing this, but I feel compelled to share my experience. I've been…read morefeeling incredibly overwhelmed with all of my loan payments (my fault obviously) as My dad is currently going through radiation treatments, and my grandfather is in hospice care. Life feels unbearably heavy right now. All I was trying to do was consolidate my loans and credit card into one manageable monthly payment to simplify things during this difficult time. Instead, I was denied because my dad is a co-signer on one of my loans. The hard part is that he actually needs to be removed from that loan, he has cancer and should be focused on his health and his own responsibilities, not tied to my debt. I understand that banks follow policies and procedures, and I know personal circumstances don't always factor into decisions. Still, this experience left me feeling helpless for him and deeply discouraged at a time when I'm already stretched thin so thin with so many responsibilities. I just wish there had been a little more understanding or flexibility.

It's not my credit union, and there's a location closer to where my parents live--I have no idea…read morewhether SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union has any Bay Area locations--but it's fun to come here when I'm nearby to luxuriate in the fact that I can use its ATMs for free and get my cash money in fives, twenties, and hundreds. No singles, no tens, no fifties; just fives, twenties, and hundreds. The other location I've seen is also in a mall. This one is in the middle of a mall parking lot, but it doesn't share its building with any other business. It also has four outdoor ATMs, more than I've seen in a very long time. (There might be some inside as well, but I haven't been inside.) Fee-free money in denominations other than twenties is great. I wish more Bay Area credit-union ATMs did this.
