You always wait far past your appointment time every time. Staff and care were not an issue…read more Every single appointment I've ever taken my young children to we had to wait hours. Normal check ups or even when they were hungry and couldn't eat for a procedure. They are always overscheduled and every single issue and delay is passed on straight to the patients. I wouldn't really care if it was just for me but YOUNG CHILDREN CAN'T JUST WAIT ALL DAY. Especially if they're hungry...

My…read moreexperience, both during my inpatient stay and at a follow-up appointment, was deeply disappointing and at times alarming. During my hospitalization, I consented to a bedside lumbar puncture around 2:00am. A third-year neurology resident attempted the procedure three times around 4:00am--each attempt excruciatingly painful. After the third try, he mentioned needing a larger needle. At that point, I refused further attempts and requested the procedure be done under fluoroscopic guidance, which finally happened painlessly the next day. This suggests that my suffering could have been completely avoided with proper supervision and planning. Even worse, the official documentation falsely stated that the supervising neurologist was present throughout the procedure--which she was not. When confronted, she denied it until shown a screenshot, then said she would "have to go in and delete that," which she did. This kind of false documentation is deeply unethical and unacceptable. My condition--IIH, which can lead to vision loss--was not handled with the urgency it warranted. Communication from the neurology team was minimal. I was left feeling ignored and uninformed during a very vulnerable time. At my follow-up appointment with neurology, I explained that I was still vomiting. Rather than investigate further, they pushed mindfulness techniques and suggested my untreated anxiety was the cause--even though I've had anxiety my whole life and it has never caused vomiting before. This felt dismissive and unhelpful. If you're dealing with a serious neurological condition and need thoughtful, attentive care, I strongly recommend finding a different team. The neurology department here left me feeling disregarded, misled, and unsafe.

Just this morning on Sunday, December 13th I experienced my first crash. Hopefully it's my last…read more I'm lucky to be alive, as my bus crashed and flipped over completely with glass and terror being felt everywhere. Im in the hospital now after having had x-rays and as I wait, I feel eager to let people know how amazing this ER is. Not too long after the crash, the EMTs from Washington Hospital arrived. They were thorough in asking each person from the bus if they were ok, had any injuries and wanted to see a doctor. It was clear they were organized as everyone got a green, yellow, red or black ribbon. Each color represented a persons status (ok, mildly injured, severely injured or dead/about to die). And no, no one passed away. Ambulances were at the ready and for those who were badly bruised, like me, had heavy lavender blankets given to them for warmth and protection. Our luggage was either underneath the bus or tossed around so you got out of the bus with whatever you were wearing. EMTs were friendly and took their job seriously. They were approachable and very calm as they helped. One could say that's any hospital but their kindness and sincerity was palpable. For those of us who were ok, the ambulances offered to take anyone to the hospital to wait indoors in one of the family rooms. Upon arrival, the ER seemed relatively peaceful but everyone was on high alert as people from "the crash" kept coming in. We got water and the nurse came in asking how everyone was and if we changed our minds we could still be seen. Adrenaline subsiding and PTSD and mild pain setting in, I decided not to chance it so I was seen immediately. I was taken to a room with a clear sliding door - unlike others where you're completely exposed or with one curtain departing you from everyone else. I was quickly registered and multiple people came in to confirm my story and check on how I was feeling. Questions were repeated to check my progress. Shortly after I was taken to a freezing room, on my bed, to have an x-ray. My results came back in less than five minutes and I was given a WARM blanket. The blanket was literally warm as if it came straight out of the dryer. Worth noting the material was fairly soft and decent for a hospital. As of now, the hospitalists (as they're called) keep checking on me. All of them are friendly, somewhat casual (gum chewing..) but concerned. It was all so comforting. One of them talked about their training and they just completed a bus crash drill. Just in time. I hope to never be back but, I encourage those who live in this area of PA to not hesitate to come here. It'll be a smart decision and one they surely won't regret.
