Know your RIGHTS to appeal discharge!…read more The hospital will refuse appeal using Manipulation, intimidation tactics against weak fragile medicated individuals. Don't give up file directly with the state and federal government! 888-935-0016 In the case of my 80-year-old mother they lied to her they manipulated her they threatened her! They sent her home in severe pain, throwing up, low blood pressure and without a safe space for rehabilitation! They were clearly notified of these concerns. The hospital ignored and discharged her and said the appeal was completed ( manipulation)That was untrue statement of facts! Day after discharge the state had not completed the appeal or even sent results . My mother was back in the ER the next morning less than 24 hours later readmitted into the same hospital. The discharge case managers #1 and #2, the social workers, the therapist , the secretary, Patient advocates all we're put on notice of this appeal! These individual names are documented. Discharge case manager #1 said it wasn't her problem ! Discharge case manager supervisor#2 yelled over my mother when I was on the phone with her is that Ginger ? She grabbed the phone. She said that it's not her responsibility she doesn't care . She asked me if I knew how to do her job and started telling me about her credentials! I told her that there was a state appeal due to their refusal to fulfill their duties . She said she was very much aware! She continued and I disconnected the call. The nurse was also notified I specifically ask her for the appeal documents . She was told by one of the above that they were not going to give the appeal documents to my mother or her husband. Today 6/29/26 discharge personal #3 came in while I was on the phone with my mother on speaker stating that if she was going to file another appeal for her discharge she needed to hurry up and get it done. ( Funny thought they weren't allowed to file an appeal per previous employees during previous admission .She started yelling Saying she wasn't talking to me when I asked her name that she was talking to my mother. I heard she was informing my mother that if we filed an appeal and the insurance refused to pay that my mother would be responsible for the hospital's charges. ( Not at all what the law states) She stormed out when my mom gave me her name! This is fraudulent information with the intentions to intimidate, harass, manipulate a 80 yr old woman. Can you say coercion! My investigation shows (see documents below) it is a federal offense that comes with Federal penalties to deny the patient to appeal discharge ! We do have multiple witnesses that it was denied by the hospital employees. Which is why the state had to step in! In less than 24 hours my mother was admitted back into the hospital through the ER. Finally they were forced to do their job and reach out to the insurance and then she was transferred to a rehabilitation center. Currently 7/8/26 As families of children ,senior , medicated patience we must advocate on behalf of our loved ones because in our situation the hospital refuses to do their due diligence or practice professionalism.

One nurse in particular, Lacey, was in and out of room, all night, making sure compression device was working. Then a mid night visit from the surgeon checking on his handiwork. Angels of mercy are everywhere in the surgical unit: Cheyanne, Alyssa, Taylor,Jessi, Laura, Ashley. Tasha, respiratory expert, made sure patient could breathe throughout the night. Above and beyond? These angels sent out an MIA for a 100 percent cotton bedspread which went missing after surgery. Due to patient polyester allergy, it was of major concern for return of bedspread to patient. Not many cotton items out there. This spread was a lifesaver in the past. To choose to be a nurse where respect is lacking, one must love the job. Thank you angels. EH

At first, they said it was a TIA. They did NOTHING but give him an IV, and he was in the ER for hours before they did testing to determine it actually WAS a stroke. Then they waited almost a week before surgery on his carotid. The second was for a mild heart attack. Again, it took several hours to get test results while doing NOTHING in the meantime. The third time was for sudden loss of vision in one eye. It was FOUR HOURS before they even had him read an eye chart and almost 90 minutes more to get into an exam room. I'd say at least 40 people were taken in front of him, and he was there several more hours. All they did was examine the eye and give him a reference to an opthamologist. What's bad about that is that sudden vision loss is considered an emergency, especially in a 69 year old diabetic with a history of stroke. He was not treated like a patient. He was treated like an inconvenience.

The staff was absolutely wonderful. The doctors were compasionate but honest in everything they did. They explained what was going on, the different options and their recommendations for treatment. Their local staff in patient registration billing was great in working with us and letting us know about what insurance paid, and what the hospital was doing to help get the bills processed with the insurance company. The Oncologist's office, (in the Schiffler Cancer Center}, after all his treatments and he was cleared of cancer, has called once a week to make sure he isn't having any complications or symptoms any more. I love this hospital and would not go to any other one if I had a choice. Di H.
