This park is not easy to find, but if you have time and you are a sightseer, you should make the trek off the highway to find this place. You can sit amongst ancient Indian burial mounds (at least 5 of them) and watch the watercraft travel by below. The park is well groomed, has many sightseeing benches and some picnic tables available. Like I said, the view is amazing. You can see up and down the river below, and it's kind of neat to think of the history this spot must have had with the many burial mounds around. They are well marked and easy to see. Chained off for obvious reasons, but you can go right up to them. The only draw backs to this view is the noise of the traffic going across the I-94 Bridge located below and a little to the south of the park. I'd is interesting to watch the traffic, but it does create a bit of a constant hum. The other interesting thing is that the roads are not really marked that well so you might end up in a dead end on your way out!

There's always something to do no matter the season. Parking is $8, and on busy days you might wait a few minutes, but it's worth it. At the entrance, you'll get a helpful map (also available online) that shows all the trails and recreation options. We parked near the boat launch and took the 1.5-mile loop to the waterfall, a beautiful, family-friendly walk with no complaints from the kids! The waterfall itself is stunning. We kicked off our shoes, dipped our feet in the cool water, and climbed around the rocks above the falls. There are more challenging hikes if you're feeling adventurous, and it's only about 10 minutes to great Hudson riverfront dining afterward. We left smiling and saying, "That was so fun maybe we should get an annual pass!

We followed the map and took the shortest walk to the falls from the "Water Falls Parking Lot". The hike there is short (maybe a mile?) but WOW those INCLINES haha. You almost immediately walk downhill at a crazy incline - crazier than I ever have haha. We were dreading the walk back up and it lived up to that dread hahaha. Personally bringing kids this way would be an absolute no go for me. Once we got to the waterfalls it was worth it! Though we were underprepared - I would've brought water, and a swim suite / towel, and shoes that can get wet! Theres so many spots to sit near or in the water! Great photo spots and it didn't feel over crowded too. If you like hikes there were many more paths leading to and from the falls. I would come in a different, longer, less inclined route to the falls from our car next time! But there will be a next time!

They have a great playground, a huge covered picnic area, 2 baseball fields. Parking can be a hinderance if there are a lot of organized sports going on otherwise parking shouldn't be an issue. Bathrooms are currently closed for the season but there is a port a potty and they should reopen when summer starts.

I try to incorporate this into my walking/ hiking time as it is just peaceful and nice trees and wildlife.

My brother also brought my kids to a "playground," which ended up being a collection of body weight exercise stations across from the library. :-) There are benches, tables, and green space throughout to enjoy reading under a shaded tree or a picnic with the fam. They were setting up for a concert when we were there and there was a bunch of seating and green space directly in front of the bandshell. This is a small, easily walkable park, adjacent to all of the cool riverfront restaurants and charming downtown shops.

It is one of the county's parks so you have to purchase a 25.00 for the year pass or a day pass for 7.00. They have an employee there during open hours to watch the water and people. Parking is right there. The water/beach can be a little tough on the feet with some rock areas. Wear water shoes and bring your chair you can just enjoy a little bit of the blue Wisconsin sky. There is no alcohol allowed or pets. It is typically a very calm crowd and they close early so no late night swimming...

FIELDS & TRAILS Thanks to a few Eagle Scouts (and other community members) there are hiking trails throughout and two ball fields (Hudson and RF youth groups *reserve these fields most weeknights in the summer months.) My favorite part of the park is the wide open space to throw the ball for the dogs and the walking trails. You won't like these trails if your goal is to powerwalk through the park. These are more for leisurely exploration type walks. They're not paved or consistently maintained (not a criticism). Occasionally a tree or large branch will fall onto the paths and that's where they stay. It's half the fun trying to figure out how to get up, over or around the obstacles. PLAYGROUND It's not a very big playground but the usual things are here....a space net, slides, one of those big structure things with the bar like dealybobs and the track climber thingies. So I'm not exactly a playground equipment expert, but I do know that all you really need for a good time is a swing, and this park has one. Adjacent to the kid stuff is a nice covered pavilion with picnic tables, electricity and an old hand pump for water. Clean restrooms too, so kindly leave the poopin' in the woods to the dogs - and BYOB to clean up after Rover.
