There is a waterski show on the lake typically every wednesday night during the summer. It gets busy with tubers, skiers, and fishing. I received an automated email the day before our excursion saying that our guide would reach out later that day to confirm meeting time and which landing to meet our guide. I waited patiently and did not hear anything from our guide. I sent him an email to confirm things and received a short "sorry I am fishing a national walleye tour tomorrow" reply. No apology for confusion, no effort to fix his scheduling error, nothing. I received another automated email the day after our scheduled excursion thanking me for business and asking for a review. I have held off on leaving a review to allow time for Mike to make things right BUT my husband and I have been asking for a refund for about 2.5 months now and these efforts have not been successful. We have been calling and emailing and get VERY little to no communication in return. This is unprofessional and frustrating but worst of all is the disappointment my 10 year old had to experience. 100% do not recommend working with this business.

Only one block wide but five blocks long, the park includes a set of tennis courts, baseball field, playground and a large picnic pavilion with a steam locomotive set. The train set is accessible and in very good condition for those who appreciate such things. There isn't an active or obvious decommissioned rail line here so it's interesting that a huge steam locomotive is here on display. The park is in reasonable condition with too much litter and dumping from people who should know better. While staying in la Cross doing my rail fan thing I stumbled on this park that has an old steam…read morelocomotive and caboose next to a rail tower that looks like it was moved to the property. The steam locomotive has Burlington route markings and the tower has grand crossing which is a real railroad tower that that was moved to the park. Rail fair takes place on the third Saturday in July with $5 tours of the tower and locomotive.

The front nine was rather short from the forward tees so I eked out a few pars. Water plays a factor in a few holes. Not much for sand and there were a few rolling hills. Tee boxes were in bad shape but the greens were very nice. Back nine was hillier and more challenging with narrower fairways and more water challenges. Staff checking us in was friendly and helpful. The area is beautiful. The bike trail is near so we heard a few riders zooming past. We played fast. Our first 18 holes took about 3 hours. We bopped over to hole two after finishing 18 and played 6 more of the front nine until we caught up to a foursome. Beautiful day on the course.
