When you're on vacation and get a kidney stone, you want to go somewhere where you'll be taken good…read morecare of. Ascension Sacred Heart does just that. My husband drove me to the ER, but I was getting sick so violently I couldn't get out of the care. ER personnel came out to our car with a wheelchair, waiting patiently in the warm sun till the spasms were over. From the moment I was wheeled in, everything was handled calmly and orderly and kindly. It was a weekday morning so it wasn't really busy and I was seen in just a few minutes. I was wheeled back to the ER where the real work began. Now, I'm in pain and there are things that have to be done before they can deal with the pain. I was patient through that. I understand. And what they had to do...take blood, set up an IV, hook me up to monitors, etc was conducted with efficiency and gentle care. Then came the pain meds. One had to be "pushed" through my IV. Having gone to nursing school (but not graduating), pushing a med via an IV is an important skill and my ER had it! She explained all that would happen as the drug entered my body. She kept reinforcing her explanation as the drug began to take effect. I appreciated that! A second pain med had to be administered and by the time I was rolled to get a CT scan, I was feeling much better. The PA in the ER knew exactly what to, popped in frequently to check on me and practically held my hand as the stone passed. The facility was SPOTLESS. All the staff were calm and kind and seemed to really like being in the medical field, helping people. I usually have more questions than the average patient, and each person I came in contact with STOPPED and took time to answer all my questions. You don't want to have a medical emergency when you're on vacation. But I am truly thankful that Ascension Sacred Heart was close by for my needs. Great place. Great people.

What a joke. Dr. halloman basically called me a drug addict, offered me some SSRI's then referred…read moreme to a psychiatrist thru a drug rehab facility!!! all because I used to be on Suboxone, past tense.... now currently, present tense, have an anxiety disorder and gnarly panic attacks. Nurse and doc tried to tell me I have high blood pressure and threw me on an EKG machine... I guess to make it look like they actually did something since he wouldn't write me a prescription for the anxiety meds I am already prescribed. News flash my blood pressure is fine... probably was the whole time. Was fine when Went by Publix and checked it right after I left their office. Don't ever go here if you have ever taken Suboxone and expect to be treated with any kind of dignity or expect them to write you a prescription of anything that's gonna help your problem. I got anxiety doc! I'm not f'ing depressed. Don't want SSRI's. And I don't need to talk to a rehab doctor. Only reason I went here is that the people taking appointments over the phone told me, "yes of course Dr. Halloman can write you a prescription for the med you are currently taking." If I could say overall the experience was an expensive waste of time. To hell with this place. They don't deserve a half star. 11-17-25

Dr. Rickey Viator is a strange one. Took the grand baby for his first visit and we won't be back…read more After a "well visit", he literally personally kept calling my daughter every hour to follow up on her sons MINOR medical issue. It was to the point that my daughter would look at the phone and not even want to answer. I guess I could be positive and say wow what an amazing doctor to call 4,000 times to check up on an infant he's saw once for a total of 4 minutes. I guess we'll see if he bills the insurance for all those calls? That's the feeling we got because there just didn't seem a reasonable answer as to why he would keep blowing up my daughters phone. His office staff all look and act miserable. His Medical Assistant was acting like she was an MD and that she knew everything about everything. He wasn't recommended by the hospital but he was the only doctor who had appointments open to see a newborn right after birth, so that's where we kinda had to go.

After phoning in and explaining we were from out of town with a sick baby, I gave my insurance info and was given a 4pm appointment. The sick baby and I drove 30 minutes to make our appointment. Upon arrival, we were finally told they could not see us because our insurance, which I had given over the phone, would not be accepted. I said that was fine and that I would just pay for the day's visit in cash. The doctor, Dr Ricky Viator, came out to tell me that he could not see me even then because you can't pay for your visit if you have insurance. I am flabbergasted. I was so confused and amazed. I left. In my haste and disgust, I left the baby's insurance card. I sat in the parking lot calling other places for at least 10 minutes. Dr Smith, from the same practice, was willing to see me as a doctor should. I drove away at least 10 minutes before I realized I'd left the insurance card. Never did the lovely receptionist call me to say I'd left it even though she knew I had a sick baby and was driving 30 minutes away. Dr Viator and his team should be ashamed. * * *
