The 2009 Scheurebe Spätlese Trocken maybe one of the most unique white wines I've had to date. Smoky, minty, melon notes but very low in acid. A mellow wine that was paired surprisingly well with various tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and dashi broth. Yes I said dashi. A crazy combination of flavors which was heightened by this crazy unique wine. The price performance ration is also very high as you can get it for around $25US retail. A total bargain in my eyes.
