Prior to our trip to Frankfurt, my husband and I wanted to make sure to visit one of the German towns with an old-time feel. My husband knows what a planner I am, so he knew I would find something interesting. After researching various towns, I discovered Marburg!
Located a little over an hour away from Frankfurt via the train, the voyage there and the scenery was beautiful. Since Frankfurt is the financial district of Germany, this was a nice change of pace. When pulling into the Marburg train station, you will get to see the gorgeous, majestic St. Elizabethkirsch. The station is centrally located, so the church and the Christmas market are both within walking distance.
The Christmas market is throughout this tiny town, but start at the church. The market encircles the church, full of pretty lights, jolly music, items to buy and food to experience!
The market does not end there... remember to walk up the hilly road. Pockets of markets throughout the town, full of happy people, alcohol to enjoy, and memory-making experiences! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Christmas market! read more
