I have never had anyone be so rude to me before this, in a store or gas station really of any…read morekind.... I'm a traveling MRI Technologist on my way to work at another Hospital in South Carolina during the Covid shortage; and I am a christian that always tries to pay every bill and be honest with Integrity in everything I do and honestly believe of being "faithful in the little things"... So, after this background and understanding a little about how my mind works maybe, I want you to hear what happened to me so hopefully it doesn't happen to anyone else.. Until they replace this rude lady that was working as the cashier on Sunday Night around 9pm, I would stay away from this place. I walked in and was looking around for a few different things and because it looked like the lady was on the phone and she had to put the phone down because I came in the store, she wanted me to hurry. I was asked by her in an attempt to hurry me along, she asked "Can I help you with something?" I had a mask on and I have a heavy accent from West Virginia and Kentucky border where I grew up, so she didn't understand what I said. I mentioned something random just to make her not feel stupid for asking, because I know how it embarrassed me when I worked at a Exxon in my home town. So I repeated again my item I knew I wanted to find along with others. She still could not understand me, so in a attempt to repeat what I said and communicate, her facial expressions looked like it made her angry. So I walk around the store, and In my confusingly awkward way; and found a few items. When I came to the counter, she then became obviously irritated and put the phone down and said "Where is the other candy I know you have?" I was confused because I know I only had a reese cup that I had decided to put back, but put back in the snickers area instead. I know I was lazy and should have walked it another couple feet and put it in the right place, but I hadn't. So I admitted what I had done, and put it back where it belonged. Then she began to accuse me and said that she knew I had stolen a bunch of candy and she was going to call the cops. I was so surprised, I began to stutter and I know my face turned red. I couldn't believe this lady was going to act like I was a robber destined to come in and rob all the candy surplus, and she was about to take out this anger on me. I knew it all started because of my accent, because as I have traveled around the country, I have been made fun of and harrassed alot over it. I sound like a hillbilly, and I don't seem to be as educated as I am to people..? .. Well, the lady was so angry, she began to yell about calling the cops and I volunteer to let her search me or whatever she wanted to do. I was then hoping she would call the cops so this could get sorted out properly. She didn't do it though. So I begin to think about what Jesus would do. So I tried to be humble in a supernatural, Holy Spirit filled way. I tell her I care about her and the problems that have obviously gotten her so angry. I apologize and try to tell her That I hope God blesses her; and none of this gets out before she begins to yell at me to leave. She yells every single time I try to say anything at all, and before A word comes out, she has already yelled again repeatedly for me to leave. So I am forced to leave. It was awful, and I believe it was becasue she hated me because of my accent. But I tried to do the right thing. If I did not do the right thing in any way, I pray God teaches me from the encounter and uses it to mold me into a better humble person. But to save yourself maybe any drama from the angry "BreadBox" cashier, I suggest you avoid it. It would be better than fighting to get through a experience of buying gas, or God forbid; Reese's that you forget and put back where the snickers are... LOL
