Both of my daughters needed braces. When looking for orthodontists in the Oviedo area there were 3 top choices. I met and reviewed each one and Smith & Weeks was the most highly recommended not only for how nice they are but also for the results seen. Dr Weeks was at every visit and encouraging with his "rounding third.. headed home" baseball references. We couldn't have asked for a better hygienist when we got Barbara. She is so patient and kind, but also strict and remindful of the way things must be done to get the results faster. My youngest was quite sensitive to everything and Barbara was able to calm her down and give her time to take a deep breath, reassuring her that it was almost over. They were both in and out of braces in 18 months and they look amazing!! They also put in what they call a "fixed retainer" little bar behind the lower front teeth which I haven't heard of anyone else doing but wish I had that when I had my braces done when I was younger. We were sent to Dr. Smith and Weeks by our general dentist. Our son is 10 with a severe bite issue. After doing our homework, and checking credentials, we couldn't have been referred to a better practice. Both Dr. Smith and Dr. Weeks are extrememly personable, and have always made our son feel welcome and IMPORTANT. Gilda is the assistant who always sees our son when he goes for his visits, and she is amazing! The entire staff here shines. Our son's case was rather complicated, and what really stood out to me was how Dr. Smith engaged my son during the initial consultation. He really took time to make HIM part of the discussion and decision making process. This really made a difference. I have to say things are moving along rapidly. The progress is quite remarkable. I was treated by Dr. Smith approximately 18 years ago, for TMJ. I had braces, and was extremely pleased with my results, so much so, that I referred a friend who has been waiting for years to be able to have braces, and who also has TMJ My friend's case was much more difficult case than mine, according to Dr. Smith. She now has beautiful teeth, no more jaw pain, and for the first time in her life, she is not ashamed to smile. A few years ago, when I sustained two very badly fractured front teeth from an accident, after I had those teeth bonded, Dr. Smith made me a new retainer at no charge. Not too many doctors would do that for you. I highly recommend Dr. Smith and the results that I have as a result of my braces are fantastic. I have no more ear or jaw pain as a result of the correction of my bite, and I can not stress enough the importance of patient compliance in wearing the retainers that will be provided to you at the end of treatment. read more

Our son (who is 10) was recommended to see Dr.'s Smith and Weeks by his general dentist due to his bite. He has a pretty complicated case even at such a young age. We have had an opportunity to meet with both doctors, and they are both EXCEPTIONAL. The staff was kind and patient with all of us, taking time to answer all of our questions, and they really put our son at ease. Although he was pretty nervous at first, our son has actually come to look forward to his visits there. They have a separate area for the kids, the practice is very modern, clean and state of the art. We did our homework prior to accepting the referral to this practice. Both Dr. Smith and Dr. Weeks are extremely well credentialed, and we couldn't be happier. We HIGHLY recommend this practice to anyone looking for an orthodontist. I chose a route that involved orthodontics that prepared me for jaw surgery. This required precise treatment on a precise time line. My son began treatment with Dr. Principe and Dr. Weeks has taken over since his semi-retirement! I was a little concerned with changing orthodontists... however, Dr. Weeks' treatment has been wonderful, definitely on par with what we experienced with Dr. Principe. Drs Smith and Weeks are outstanding. You can tell that they enjoy working with kids. What I particularly like is that they talk to the kids and discuss what needs to be done and why and what the kid's responsibility is. My children, and now me, have been patients of Dr. Smith. My daughter needed a complex treatment (finally requiring tooth implants). Great, friendly staff. We transferred orthodontic care to Smith & Weeks from out of state and Dr. Weeks tweaked my daughter's smile just a tad bit more...her smile is incredible.
