I cannot recommend the Weed Man franchise in Sturtevant, WI.
The technicians I met were professional and courteous, but that alone is not enough to retain a customer. My invoice initially did not match what was discussed when I signed up. While that issue was corrected, it was the first of several service and communication problems.
After the first treatment, nearly two months passed with no additional service until I called to follow up. I also emailed the corporate feedback address and received an acknowledgment stating that someone would respond, but no response ever came.
The next treatment was rescheduled three times. Beyond the initial application, which did reduce dandelions, we saw little improvement in our lawn. The final straw came when I received an email stating my lawn had been serviced that day. I work from home with a clear view of my backyard, and we have cameras around our property. No one serviced my lawn that day.
Adding to the frustration, I received numerous emails and calls trying to sell additional services such as aeration and grub control. Each time, I explained that I would discuss additional services after the company consistently delivered the services I had already purchased.
Ironically, after seeing the initial improvement with dandelions, I recommended Weed Man to a family member. He uses a different Weed Man franchise and has had a much better experience, which suggests these issues may be specific to the Sturtevant location rather than the brand overall.
I will say that the representative who handled my cancellation was professional and helpful.
Maintaining customers is not difficult: communicate clearly, show up when scheduled, and deliver the services you promise. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with the Sturtevant franchise. read more
