Contacted Weedman, which we thought was local, to help us tackle invasive weeds moving in from our neighbors property. Explained to them our lawn was covered with creeping Charlie, some dandelions and now some thistle which we were attempting to manage with continual weed pulling. Was sold an annual plan for lawn growth and weed control with add on services- aerating the lawn and some booster. We did get a late lawn growth and one weed application in May. After 2 hot Summer months of no new services/weed applications and the weeds thriving, I began receiving repeated calls at work for grub control- we don't have grubs and requested help with the weeds. Calls continued for additional services which they were very slick to just mention - hello I'm calling to get " such and such" service scheduled. Thankfully I always asked them is this included in my prepaid service for the year. Their response would be - well no but I can take 20 off right now and the price will only be $189. I again would tell them we need help with the weeds which my hubby and I continued to try to tackle manually by pulling. The breaking point was my hubby buying our own chemicals to treat. Our lawn is frazzled and we still have a weed problem but at least we are not paying someone almost $1000 for nothing. This is our first time hiring a lawn/ weed company to help and may be our last. Unfortunately this experience was so bad that we cancelled. I'm on the no call list for additional services but was told that Unfortunately the calls come from a national network and I'm still getting them. read more

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in my life! We signed up and prepaid they admitted that they mixed the weed spray wrong and killed half of our grass! We have about an acre of grass.... They did come back and over seed as promised but we've been watering all spring due to lack of rain and what seed did come up looks good but they didn't seed all the lawn they killed and we wasted our time and water on those areas! I was outside when I saw Brandon in my neighbors yard spraying so I stopped him and asked what service he was providing. He was extremely pleasant, very clear on what service he offered and what all this included. I was very impressed by his willingness to provide me service right then and he truly is a very pleasant young man. I see some of the reviews are less favorable but I can say I would recommend this service if you can get on his route. They lie, cheat, avoid and go behind your back. I have experienced this not as a customer, but as a unfortunate person forced to have them in my existence. I was involved in vehicle accident and both service truck and my truck mirrors made contact on a closed highway. I am willing to bet they were driving on this highway illegally (cannot prove) whereas, I was just leaving my residence to run some errands. The damage only involved the mirrors, so not significant enough to involve insurance. This was mutual at the time of accident. The next day I get Informed by my Insurance company that a claim has been filed, extremely frustrated, I called the number on the service truck. Only to talk to a vast network of customer service representatives that provide no customer service! A week has gone by with countless phone conversations, only to be told an email has been sent out to the person that can handle this matter. Weedman aerated my lawn without prior authorization and charged me for the service because my card was on file. We never asked for the service and when we got home we called them and brought this to their attention. The following week we had a small gathering and the kids couldn't walk on the grass and do the pool and slip and slide. We asked weedman to help rectify the issue as we had a 100 person large event scheduled on the lawn the following weekend and the plugs were all over and didn't break up before the event. We were told we were out of luck and they stopped replying to our calls and requests for help with the landscaping before the major event. They accepted they came to the wrong address but told us there was nothing they could do about the bad timing of them coming and the event in the lawn. We spend days and hours raking and watering the following weekends on our own to try and make the situation better. Weedman was never heard from again. Mistakes happen but as we'd been a loyal customer for weed control for years, we hoped they'd own up to the mistake on their end but they told us to fix it ourselves. I have repeatedly told them that I did not authorize the service they are charging me for and yet they continue to try to get me to pay them. These guys are worse than the worst with telemarketing. They never stop their hounding phone calls. I had requested a quote for servicing my yard, their quote came in 4-5x everyone else and I declined. In 4 months I have declined 33 phone calls and deleted several voice mails. What part of "NO, I am declining the service from your business" do you not understand? Update 9/27/2019: 2 weeks have passed and I've received 8 more phone calls when I've already said stop calling multiple times. This is the absolute worst my lawn has looked in the 10 years I've owned my house. Weed man came and sprayed chemicals on my lawn that killed all of the grass. I now have 100% dead, brown grass. I wish this could be a zero. This has been one of the most annoying companies to deal with in a long time. Was fine when they asked to come around a year ago, and I said I was busy and couldn't talk and took my number down, wow biggest mistake every. After they had my number, they called the next day, which I requested, and after I had discussed with my wife about it we had decided not to do it, due to finances at the time. I explained I didn't want to do it and for the next week and half they called daily, if not more than once a day. I explained each time that I was not interested and would not like to be called again. After about a month of on and off calls, they finally stopped. Until recently. About 3 weeks ago they were in the neighborhood again, and I said to the guy going door to door, to take me off of any list and please don't contact me again as it was non-stop calling even after saying I was not interested. Come a couple days after they showed up, the first call, then another a couple days later, and now another one today. I said I was not interested and haven't been for over a year please don't contact me. Instead of the woman actually saying anything she hangs up. I was going to pre pay for service for a Christmas present. I called, got a quote and paid. When I got a receipt, ten days later, they charged me $200 over the quote. No way in hell. I have a 2 acre lot that is full of weeds from the previous owner. So my wife calls the Weed Man to get some pricing quotes. Of course, he's pushing for the six-application regimen, because that's about all the chemicals they can apply in a year without creating mutant earthworms or destroying the lawn entirely. So, not having a great feeling about this fella, the wife tells him thanks for the info and we'll call you if we decide to go ahead with it. What followed was the most horrendous display or every sleazy, slimy, super-aggressive sales tactic, all very poorly executed. He was so pushy, I wouldn't let him come to my house and work if it was free. At one point he actually asked what was stopping us from signing up immediately, at which point my wife kindly explained that our hesitation was the consequence of the myriad negative reviews posted online by former clients of theirs. Weed Man, if you're reading this, please take my advice: your sales tactics are rude, unprofessional, hopefully ineffective, and completely archaic, as we now live in a time where the voice of the customer is louder than ever. They sprayed his yard about 10 days ago, when leaving did a u-turn down the street, as the driver came in front of my house and while looking at his phone, proceeded to drive into my ditch causing some ruts. Immediately called the business, the woman who answered seems quite horrified. Told me that the vehicles have cameras inside and outside the vehicle. 2 days later I recevied a call stating they would be out in a couple of days to fix. Guess my word is not good enough. I used weed man 2months ago...the salesman told me a bunch of crap like when they come to spray my lawn they'll let ma know what there weed control will actually kill.My daughter said they never rang the bell and the guy was gone in 5 min.Also they quoted me360$ for 6 applications. 4 days after they sprayed my grass which was lime green ...my lawn was brown.I called to tell them I wanted to stop applications because service was bad ..and told them to refund me my other 60$ for second application.They made me pay 120 upfront for the 6 applications. When I asked for my 60 back they stated they gave me 2 applications instead of 1...I said bull....u told me 60 an applications for 6 times....the company is so bad they killed my grass because they put yo much fertilizer and weed kill on my lawn.I had supervisor then come to house to give me some laim excuse of look at everyone else's lawn it's brown tooo...bullcrap I said not everyone had your sh..company spray there lawn.They ended up giving me my 60 dollars back after manager listened yo tape of salesman who lied to me...what a joke...bad bad service !!! read more

I have to laugh at all of these negative reviews...I have had Weed Man for about 5 or 6 years. The only issue I have ever had was inconsistent application (in year's 1 and 2) which caused nice dark green strips through the lawn. I took photos and sent them to Weed Man and they came out a re-applied in a criss-cross pattern. This is now part of my "customer notes" and it has never happened again. Weed Man has also worked with my timing (i.e. lawn is too wet to apply, or I wanted to rake leaves or do spring clean up before they came out, etc) and needs and have always been very professional. I have never felt bantered by them. I have also studied the costs and convenience...For me to do what they do using the 4-step Scott's Plan would cost 1.5x what they do in their 6-step plan. read more

In the Spring after their season of service my lawn was the worst it had been in 30 years, and all my neighbors' DIY lawn care outperformed my Weed Man "guaranteed" results. The only thing they did that I couldn't do myself was send me a note saying the trees in my yard were causing my grass to grow poorly. One application b4 Mem'l Day and more weeds than I have ever had w/ any other lawn service (or on my own). Called to complain in early May and get their butts to my house. Was told what their schedule was and when they might get to it. It is now the day b4 Mem'l Day w/e and I just fired them / cancelled. Was again told they were right on THEIR schedule. Demanded 5/6 refund for the five applications paid for & not done. Was told the pre-pay discount only applied to the last application and related payment. How convenient for them. Classic "bait and switch". I was quoted a price of $110 per application to do my entire property. When the service man arrived, he refused to do the application saying the price was a misquote. Later in the week I Received a call from Josh Hill, the sales manager, who then quoted a reconfigured price of $400 per application.. I love this company. They came out and took care of some crabgrass and clover that had been a real pest on my lawn for seasons. The tech. was courteous and polite even knocked on the door to see if I was home and walked my lawn with me. I watched from the window with my 2-year-old at the hip as he treated my lawn. I was afraid he would disregard my child's toys but I was surprised he picked them up and moved them before he put any product on my lawn. When he was done he left a handwritten note on my door, and not just a generic invoice.
