Moreno International - need moving to mexico?

    Moreno International

Moreno International provides the worst and most unprofessional moving experience. They stole…read morethings from my moving and stopped answering my calls and emails. Avoid them! About a month ago (Feb 2015), I hired Moreno Intl. for my moving from Miami to Mexico City. At first instance, specially in the selling process, Moreno seems like a very professional company. They were fast and responding during the selling process., everything was great until then. They sub-hired a local company in Miami to do the packing and the shipping to the mexican border, the american company was very professional and was in constant contact with me. I was promised to have my moving done in 4 weeks, well, it took them 8. The operations team didn't contact me a single time to notify the status of my moving. I had to call them every other time to get the same answer, that my properties were still with their Customs' agent. It was weird that a small apartment move was with their Customs agent for over 3 weeks. Their Customs agent is Rojas Forwarding. They even lied to me saying that my moving had been inspected by the mexican Customs, but only one of my boxes was open. After a lot of stress they notify me that one of my boxes, the one with my colognes (they didn't mention that) had been open to take out some medicines as it could put my whole moving in risk. THEY OPENED MY MOVING BOXES WITHOUT APPROVAL AND STOLE 3 OF MY COLOGNES. (Very different from the US company they sub-hired, they called me, asked for my permission to open a box and took some cooking spices and asked me where to send them.) When my moving finally arrived, I took pictures of the open box in front of their movers and sent all the information they requested. From that moment on, my moving executive Rebeca Cruz stop answering my calls, so did her boss, Thelma. At that point I decided to call the Manager of the company, Mario Muños, I explained the situation and promised to come back to me. It has been three weeks now. They haven't contacted me, nor responded to my emails and every time I call they tell me they are away or in a meeting. I PERSONALLY DONT RECOMMEND USING THEM, NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF THEIR POOR SERVICE, BUT THEY STOLE AND LIED TO ME. Victor Islas (vic.islas87@gmail.com)

My experience with a move from the SF Bay Area to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico:…read more (1) Final cost was 24% above original written estimate. I think they may "low ball" the estimate to get your job and then jack it up after you've submitted all the documents, committed to working with them, and had the truck packed and the goods weighed. (2) They contracted with a US company to do part of the move. The US company packed or re-packed some innocuous items like cat food and medications and then later intentionally (and admittedly) destroyed the entire box which also appears to have contained valuable personal property of mine. They destroyed the entire box because the box contained cat food and medications that are on the "bad" list for Mexican Customs. This local US company should have returned all items to me as I still own a home in the moving company, where the move originated. (3) They lost thousands of dollars of personal property (rug, computer peripheries, books, bed clothes, etc.) but Moreno Movers refused to admit any responsibility for these events. For international moves, Moreno typically sub-contracts with a US company. When things go wrong, they blame the US company. From what I can tell, they provide no on-sight observation or supervision of the packing and transmittal process from the US to the border. I have received an email from someone else who recently had some of the problems with Moreno (lost items, changing charges based on weight, etc.). Since Moreno collects handsomely for being the prime contractor, they really should provide more oversight and take responsibility for what happens with the move. I am attempting to file small claims petitions against both Moreno Movers and the US moving company.
