Parking was a little difficult and had to walk a ways. They had chickens, turkeys, horses, pigs. While it was fun watching and spending time with the animals, there would be an occasional unsupervised child that would step into view or in front of those kneeling down trying to take pictures. Of course, it had rained recently but the pigs were knee deep in mud and didn't look all that happy. But, it was really the pumpkin patch. It wasn't an actual pumpkin patch (because pumpkins in Alaska), but some pumpkins thrown down on a bed of hay for $10 each. I think Fred Meyer's was having a special on pumpkins that week for about less than half the cost

The live animal prices are a little high for my taste but the chicken feed is a good price. It's a place where you can get what you need for your live stock for a decent price while the kids can see the animals.

This small bald eagle sanctuary at the top of the Mount Roberts Tramway is worth your time…read more I am always supportive of nonprofits that help to rescue abused animals, and the Juneau Raptor Center should be commended for the care they have brought to the bald eagles and the education they provide. Lady Baltimore is their pride and joy rescue. Some sick SOB shot her through the beak and she miraculously survived, albeit with neurological issues and partial blindness. When she is on display her handler will demonstrate how she knows her nickname (she'll turn and look at you directly if you say it) and she reinforces that onlookers be calm, mellow, and that there's no tapping on her enclosure.
