The decision was the most time-consuming choice we made - every photographer had a unique style, and prices varied wildly. We were meticulous and judicious in whittling down our list of options, enumerating the pros and cons of each. At the time, I took pride in our rigor but in retrospect I find it laughable. I knew from the moment we added Wolfcrest to our list that Sara and her work was the best. In fact, it stood out so superior to our other considerations that to even think of pursuing her as our wedding photographer felt like a guilty luxury. Imagining our own memories framed through the lens of Sara's composition felt so indulgent that we were reluctant to even consider the possibility initially, and so we continued the 'process'. I chose the site of our first date, the National Gallery of Art Ice Rink and Sculpture Garden. Just two days prior, Lacey was more than understanding when I had to change the time of day due to projected inclement weather (and let's just say I'm thankful that we did). Lacey even scoped out the sculpture garden beforehand to get a good idea of where we should shoot after I proposed.
