An absolute must see for any military history buff!!! Spanning from civil war to present day, Mr. Webb's collection covers every major conflict the US has been involved in. Several items have intriguing personal stories connected to them. Mr. Webb spent personal time sharing his knowledge with my family and was very easy to speak with. I could have easily spent 4 hours there looking at items on display or scanning photo albums, newspapers, books, and scrap books. Thank you for a wonderful experience!! read more

Everything is owned by Gary (the owner). super nice guy great with kids and tells lots of jokes. Defiantly worth every second. There is so much information and artifacts. Your aloud to touch anything you want and there is even a cute photo booth with all sorts of hats and books to look at. He's also great at Answer questions. Your aloud food and drinks. What an amazing place. My fiance and I visited back in the fall and it was one of our absolute favorite places in Savannah. The space was very well laid out and seemed to take you on a tour through the ages of American military history from the Civil War to the Gulf Wars. Seeing all these items up close and personal makes history come alive as you understand the stories of each piece. For history nerds like us, we couldn't give it higher praise. read more

He's very amiable and invited you in to see his collection without treating you like a thief. This place is rich with personal historical stories. There are many artifacts that have a personal history to Mr. Webb, the owner of the museum. I have never met someone who knew so much about where the artifacts came from and the detail of each piece. The museum may be small, but there is no lack of information or visuals. This museum is an unexpected gem! His collection is vast and his collection of stories with each display item makes you feel connected and engaged (he has stories written on and in the displays and will tell you some of them in person)! If you are curious about anything, ask him! He is so willing to answer. We took our 3 young school aged kids and they had great fun doing the scavenger hunt too. I liked that he had things from both sides of the wars. I learned so many new things- I enjoyed learning the little details. *While we didn't take these in, but he said dogs and drinks are welcome!* So if you are traveling with your fur baby, this is awesome! The museum is also air conditioned and has restrooms and a drinking fountain, if your in Savannah when it's too hot to do anything, this is a great place to get out of the heat. The curator is certainly makes this place special and we all loved our visit! My only suggestion is that he gets more of the stories written down and posted for visitors in case he is talking with other visitors at the moment. read more

Very impressed with this private museum. Unlike other museums, the owner allows you to touch artifacts, which made me feel so close to history. When I asked whether there were some artifacts related to China, Gary, the owner, opened the display case and showed me the silk maps that Flying Tiger used in the WWII. Wow! Where can you touch these precious artifacts! Strongly recommend every visitor to Savanah visit this museum! read more

Fantastic collection! Mr. Webb has an amazing amount of militaria and it's in chronological order as you walk through the museum and the centerpiece is the front half of a MiG-21! Don't expect dioramas of battle scenes though, each piece tells the story of many individual soldiers, and puts your perspective more toward the individual instead of the major battles. Mr. Webb was there when we finished walking through and talked to us for a good amount of time about the collection and how he acquired some of the pieces. Definitely visit this museum, it's one of the most unique I have been to. read more

This place isn't very big but it's easy to spend an hour plus here. The owner is very nice and the collection is amazing. There is a lot of information on many of the pieces so you can really get the history of these wars. I highly recommend this museum and we will be back. read more

The Webb Military is a little known treasure in Savannah. My parents came to visit and since my father is a history buff I decided to take him here. It was fantastic. We went in the afternoon and the owner, Gary, was there. Everything in the museum is his collection, and it's all very personal to him. If you visit, make sure you read the cards he has printed by his collection. The stories there make the pieces much more real. It's a small museum but we all thought it was great. You could easily spend an enjoyable hour here. read more

This is a must stop for my wife and I in Savannah! Its not your typical museum, its more like a collection of memorabilia and accompanying stories that represent important times in history. The stories are punctuated with items from the personal collection of Gary, the owner. Stop in, walk through the displays which include a Mig cockpit, a coat worn by Bob Hope during WWII, and one of Saddam Hussein's uniforms as well as many other amazing items. Gary is definitely the most personable and friendly museum owner you'll ever meet. Ask about the guy that hunted down a tank. read more

somehow he got all that crammed in that small space but it works. you pay your ticket inside then you are free to wander amongst the army navy military yankee confederate, remember the maine, stuff to your hearts content. i was in heaven. the wife was on a trolly tour having the time of her life with the grandbabies and i was knee deep in nazi bayonets and all things german from one and two. i spent nearly two hours in there. the guide was very informative but allowed you the freedom to meander and was not intrusive, rather helpful. it's quite a collection too. it's like gogn through a whole towns attic in the mid 70's as all this stuff was being cast aside and cleaned out. great museum, go!!! you'll love it. if you are looking for the lost confederate gold this would be a good place to begin. read more

We visited this gem of a museum right after they opened last November (2015). Our hotel had one of their brochures in the lobby and we took a pleasant walk over...so glad we did. It's a small museum that is PACKED with history, both written and visual. The owner is so personable, with many great stories to share. He should consider doing an evening storytelling and inviting some veterans over to help out. Can't begin to tell you everything that is included in this labor-of-love museum; each item has an interesting story as to how it was acquired by the owner/curator. Admission is reasonable for the amount of history contained within its walls. We look forward to visiting again when we are back in Savannah this October. It's a must see when in the area.
