The charming 42 acre ranch is owned by legendary guitarist, Jorma Kaukonen, from Jefferson Airplane and founder of Hot Tuna. Big bands from the 60's. But the ranch also includes a terrific concert venue, cool "psychedelic" museum and homey cafe. If you are lucky enough to attend a concert here you are in for an awesome, special and incredible experience. I say lucky because the concert venue has approx. 220 seats and 3/4 of them are held by season subscription holders (30 shows). The remaining go on sale to the public and are typically sold out within an hour of becoming available. At times, it can help to know someone. ;-) Their approach to seating is unique and refreshing from most every other venue you have ever been. The place itself is pretty in a rustic way and intimate like your family room. The high quality sound system compliments the superb artists playing. The crowd can be described as old hippies with a sprinkling of younger music aficionados. People are not trying to take pictures, but instead just grooving on the sounds. Along with the music you can enjoy popcorn, cookies, coffee, cider , etc. that are for sale. But, there are NO ALCOHOL SALES. Probably a good thing since it is out in the MIDDLE OF NO WHERE and you have to drive on a one lane, winding road, up a hill to enter & exit. At night, it is black out there! Being at FPR is a memorable experience that you will want to recreate many times over.

I can see how this would be a totally nostalgic experience for some. If nothing else, it's something different to do. Definitely worth checking out!

It's in a beautifully restored old barn. The one bad thing is the changing hours. I like art. If it's a local artist, that excites me even more. This is a good place for finding some beautiful hand crafted pieces. If you're looking for a present, they have a gift shop area. The only thing frustrating about this is figuring out when it's open. It says hours on its entrance, but it's not always correct. The artwork is worth making a trip for. I want to support the local artists, and that can be done by visiting the Dairy Barn. It has s great collection of crafts. There's an area you can buy many.

I had a wonderful experience at this gallery. It is a historic dairy barn that was almost torn down at one point, and now it houses beautiful art & craft exhibitions. Also, I am very impressed with the staff. They are very friendly, professional, and they really know how to treat their guests. They also did a fabulous job displaying all of the beadwork. I first wandered in years ago, motivated by a sign on the door warning of adult language. I wasn't disappointed. I got to meet Noelle and her husband and see her spectacular ceramic work and t-shirt designs as well as a fabulous curation of pro-human merchandise from small businesses and indie brands. I spent a lot of money and a lot of time chatting and didn't regret any of it. I stop in every time I'm in Huntington now and buy online when I'm not because they're just that good. My husband lives in his "Resist Much, Obey Little" t-shirt, and my handmade trinket dish of a squirrel saying "Eat My ***" sparks joy every time I walk by it. If I need a gift for a similarly-minded friend or relative, I start here. And I usually end here. And they go the extra mile when I order gifts to be sent directly to friends. They even made one cry, but in a good way. It's a very good shop. They're very good people. Give them money and get cool stuff in return. And maybe you'll get to meet a cool dog.
