It is an emotional, frightening process but Phil will floor you with his meticulous preparation and attention to detail throughout your path to resolution, and it's remarkable for your representative to actually have such an elevated bedside manner, too-- we needed it, and upon resolution of the matter we consider him a friend. He's been around the block-- you'll receive incredible insight into likely options and phases of the process, and it meant the world to us to be able to have some expectations set as we sailed into foreign waters. We marveled at the quality of his communications with us and the other party, and he brings exemplary advocacy for your interests, with a wealth of stunningly clever and wise protections that will preserve your rights and seek only fair, advantageous compromises (if amicable closure is what you seek, that is... I wager if we'd wanted to draw out a protracted battle that Phil would've been the bulldog you'd always hoped to have in your corner). We can't recommend him highly enough, and welcome inquiries on his behalf if that would help your decision.

I have had the opportunity to hire many attorneys over the years, so I feel I have the ability to…read moremake educated comparisons. Marie is a cut above so very many of them! I chose her because she treated me, and my situation, with kindness, and was solution-oriented. She was adept at navigating the process of negotiation and mediation in a contentious family law matter, with the hopes that we would not have to go to court. When that didn't succeed (through no fault of hers!) she was just as skilled in the courtroom. She was the perfect balance of tiger when needed, and decent human being always. Having had some attorneys who have been less than responsive to me, in times of need, Marie is particularly a cut above the rest in this regard, as well! She was incredibly responsive, and would carve time out of off-hours, when needed, for emergency situations - or would let me know if she wasn't going to be available for some reason of another. I never felt left hanging with her, and I can't say the same for all the attorneys I've ever dealt with. She is honest (she would always tell me what the situation was, and what her advice was, even when she was pretty sure I might not like it), gives knowledgeable and good advice, but is also willing to listen and strategize and work with new ideas, if they make sense. She is a GREAT person to have on your team. She knows the law, she knows the courts, and she knows enough of the players to have a sense of how things might go down. And, she cares deeply about her clients, and their families. I wholeheartedly recommend Marie for any of her specialties - you won't be sorry.

When I emailed requesting a few simple changes to my trust and will Colin responded that he'd make them without asking what they were. When I asked for a phone conference, he sent some times, I selected a couple that would work, and I never heard back. I wrote him weeks later saying that I felt my Trust and related documents weren't receiving the attention I thought they deserved (I'd waited 4+ mos) and he said he'd send my files. But, that hadn't happened, either. He was tops! My husband, who was a trust attorney, thought Colin was incredible. But if you can't get service, his amazing knowledge and skills aren't helpful. We liked him very much. I hope he's moved on to bigger, wealthier clients. I just wish he'd been more graceful in handing off his long time steady clients.

This attorney rents out the Little Gym in Sausalito/Marin City & hires a sitter if you've got kids, so you can be engaged in her presentation without worrying about the tykes. (There were even yummy sandwiches, fruit & drinks catered. The way to this girl's heart is definitely through her belly!) If you choose to set up an appointment with Thea for a private consultation, you can get a coupon at the workshop. Check out: http://thealaw.com/ to see her next upcoming FREE events. After all, you're discussing one of the most grown-up things you'll ever do. You shouldn't have to feel hurried making such big decisions. At least go to the seminar if nothing else, but I'll be surprised if you don't trust your estate planning (& more!) to this Law Office.
