Everything that I ended up providing to obtain the loan commitment, I could have provided up front if they had asked for it. They are either under-staffed or just have no regard for customer service or the actual lives of the customers who they are ultimately serving. My one mistake was not getting a committment and/or expectation of when each stage of the loan work would be complete, because if I had, I would have realized that I should have found a different bank two weeks before closing when they hadn't done anything yet. At one point when everyone involved in this transaction was pushing for AMB to speed up their process, an AMB associate had the nerve to tell the other party's realtor during an inquiry as to the status, that I (the customer) was the one that had held up the application. This was infuriating because even if I was the one that caused the delays (which I was not), why would they undermine the customer like that? I still haven't been able to figure that one out. Maybe they have so much business they didn't really need mine. If that is the case, I would suspect they don't need yours either. Avoid AMB and save yourself the headache.

He takes the time to explain to you what is occurring, why it is occurring and how to ensure a successful closing, organize finances and better yourself. He is extremely patient and understanding. He has worked in his personal time to guarantee deadlines would be met and satisfied. Without being local to me, he communicated with agencies near me to get the work done. Five stars does not compare to the amount that he and Contour Mortgage deserves. He has completely changed our lives for the better. They convinced our broker to select a floating mortgage rate, and as the rates creeped up, they kept postponing, asking for ridiculous documents (e.g. a years worth of proof that we paid our HOA from an apartment that we had sold 6 months prior, a letter stating I was on a 12 month salary, when I had worked for the DOE for over 10 years and had already shown proof of my summer paystubs). We had all the requested documents within 4 weeks of signing the application, if not sooner, were putting over 20% down, and have an excellent credit score and history, and we still received the current market rate, which was at least .5% higher than what we were expecting. In the end, we felt that they postponed intentionally, so that we would have to lock in at a higher rate. Do not trust them!
