Had an 8 hour layover in São Paulo and instead of perusing the same few stores for 8 hours we…read moredecided to pay for a lounge. We went to star alliance because I have two passes from United, but as it turns out they are not accepted at Star Alliance. However, the day pass is $50 for one or $90 for two. They charged $35 for our 12 year old son. This was one of the larger clubs so we thought seating would be less of a problem. We were able to grab a corner that we mostly had to ourselves the whole time. The seats were considerably better than airport seats. Though it would have been nice if there spaces where you could lie down for a nap. Likely they can get more people in if you don't lie down.
They had a large selection of drinks in the fridge, guarana, coke products, waters, multiple beers. They also had a selection of delicious wines both white and red. There was a selection of whiskeys, vodkas, and other liquor mostly mid level. As well as multiple espresso machines.
Food was good, there was a fair selection of of stew, soup, pasta, salad etc as well as fresh pao de queijo and some delicious brigadeiros.
I tried the showers which was refreshing after spending a day in the airport and before an overnight flight. The shower rooms were full bathrooms with clean towels and included hotel style shampoos and soaps. I had trouble keeping the water warm, but there were a lot of people using the shower facilities around that time.
While it wasn't cheap, the lounge made the long stay a lot more pleasant and provided both lunch and dinner. So overall it was a good deal for us. If you are on a long stay here this is worth your money.
