I recently had the good fortune to observe her help an elderly lady check prices in a store during this busy shopping season. Because the items were not clearly marked, the lady was unable to determine the sale prices of items she was interested in buying. Recognizing that the saleslady was serving other customers, Ms. Chapman-Whitfield volunteered to use an app on her cellphone to scan the bar codes to determine sales prices on several products. Although, Ms. Chapman-Whitfield was next in line at the cash register, she took her time to make sure that she helped the lady figure out all of the prices on all the articles about which the lady had questions. I was very impressed by the fact that this local celebrity took the time out of her busy schedule to be kind to a total stranger. In unselfishly helping that total stranger, Kim Chapman-Whitfield truly epitomized all that is good about the Christmas season. Thank you, ma'am!

She created the Liz Hurley Ribbon Run, an annual event which raises funds to provide diagnostic equipment for the Huntsville and Madison Hospital Breast Centers, as well as funding for a patient assistance fund and the Surviving & Thriving Program for breast cancer survivors. WHNT is the CBS affiliate in market # 79, serving 11 counties in Northern Alabama into Tennessee. WHNT produces over 27 hours of local news weekly. Greg Screws, Jerry Hayes, and Steve Johnson have been anchors at WHNT for as long as I can remember. And what's not to love about meteorologist Ben Smith? I love seeing all of Ben Smith's adventures on Facebook especially his incredible photographs of eagles in the North Alabama regions and elsewhere. The WHNT app is good, too! Unlike other local news apps, the WHNT app does not point the user to their YouTube channel; rather, it lays out the entire report.
