Family fun farm in the Shenandoah! This farm features a huge pumpkin patch where you can pick your own pumpkin - and an enormous Corn Maze. The maze is well cut and fun. Other activities included: hay ride , pumpkin bowling, pillow bounce, truck sand pit, basketball toss, football toss, baseball toss, lots of different slides, duck races, pig races and more . They also have animals to see : chickens, goats (and a goat walk), donkeys, ducks, pigs, sheep, and alpacas. They also have tractors you can climb all over. Prices were reasonable for the amount of stuff available. They also have classes for children to learn about how pumpkins are grown and a fun story time session. What could be better ? - some of the games need new balls- as some are worn out and old. They also have a pizza barn, beverages (soda,water), and kettle korn.it would have been nice if they had burgers , hot dogs or sandwiches- but some of that was closed on Friday. Be very careful folks! Loaded shotgun shell found at this farm, in the dirt by the mini train ride entrance, while my 4 kids were running around and playing among a couple hundred more kids. I showed it to the manager and she pulled it out of my hands rudely while refusing to acknowledge the gravity of the situation and claiming the shell could've come from outside the farm... I was perplexed hearing only stupid excuses and refusal of acknowledging the danger! I'm gonna take this further with the sherif department! read more

We went here with part of a preschool class and the farm did a great job making it a great experience for the kids. It started with a quick science lesson what they grow on the farm and how a pumpkin grows, then a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin for everyone, then through the petting zoo before the kids could go explore the play area. The slides were a hit but the corn pool was the place we couldn't get them out of. Staff was great throughout the visit. I went for the first time this weekend to Wayside Farm Fun. It's about an hour drive from Falls Church and we picked it because we expected it to be a bit lower key than some of the other, closer options. Overall it was fine. It's $17 per person ($2 off during the week) to get in and prices increase if you want to add in other things like paintball. Once you're in, they have a variety of activities that include a corn maze, giant trampoline/bouncy things, pumpkin drop, pig race, and more. While the parking lot looked full upon arrival, it was not too hectic once we actually got in. There weren't many lines really, except for the donuts (they were sold out of lemonade). Our kids, 9 and 4, had a good time bouncing around, doing the various slides, and watching the pumpkin drop and pig races. The corn maze was fun but was a lot of walking for the youngest one but he managed. The bouncy spaces, of which there are two side-by-side, are fun. There was someone working who presumably is supposed to monitor and ensure everyone is being safe as he had a bullhorn next to him, but the entire time we were in that section, he had his face down in his phone w/ air pods in. The food was pricey, perhaps not surprisingly, and not great. The pizza ($10) just sits around already boxed and to call it tepid, would be generous. The cheeseburgers and fries ($15 for the regular size and I believe $10 for the kids) again were room temperature and didn't have much flavor. It was major letdown for the price. The apple cider donuts and vanilla donuts were quite good, though. It's a decent outing for the kids but all things considered, not worth the drive or the price for me. Went first time today and brought a 13 and 10 year old. Not very crowded so no lines. Kids had so much fun and so did my husband and I who are in our 60s. The farm had so many things to do that any age could take part in and enjoy. I thought the admission price was worth it. We brought our own picnic style lunch and ate in the car because we didn't know if outside food and drink were allowed at their pavilions. The kids even enjoyed eating in the car. I was very impressed with the set up. The kids said they liked the pig race best but they showed so much excitement for the bounce, slides, tug of war, everything the farm provided. read more

We had such an amazing time on our field trip here! Highly recommended!! There is so much for the kids to do here, we ended up staying 5 1/2 hours!! Thankfully we drove ourselves! On a whim after a half day of virtual work, I decided to take a drive with my son out to Wayside Farms. I'll admit it's a drive from Arlington. It took about 70 minutes to get there , but it was a beautiful and scenic trip. Pro tip: use the code "weekday"on Monday or Friday for a $2 discount. This brought my total to $10. 2 and under are free. The corncribs were closed but still a lot to do. Everything is spread out and it was empty for the most part on a Friday. Do note, the pumpkin patch is separate from the "farm fun" and is $20. That includes all pumpkins up to that amount. Being it just the two of us, it made more sense to skip the patch. Activities we did included: pumpkin bowling, pillow bounce, truck sand pit, basketball toss, football toss, baseball toss, lots of different slides, duck races and the corn maze. We also stopped to see the animals: chickens, goats (and a goat walk), donkeys, ducks, pigs, sheep, and alpacas. Other things we didn't try: the tractor pull, tug of war, see-saws, tether ball. They also have a pizza barn, beverages (soda,water), and kettle korn. There are fewer activities here than other fall festivals we have visited , but I greatly appreciated the views of the Blue Ridge, passing by the Shenandoah River, and the far apart spacing if activities, as well as the light crowd on a Friday. read more

Pumpkin drop is the best I have ever seen. Then there are the pig races. Both events are done three times per day.

This is a great little farm. We took our daughter to the farm for the pumpkin patch one year. It wasn't expensive at all and they had many activities for the little ones. If you have small children, this is a great place to go in the fall. read more

This was a perfect outing for my husband, my 17 month old daughter, & 6+ months pregnant me. There were plenty of things for my little one to do including 2 sand boxes, lots of size appropriate slides, animals, a pig race, farm equipment & hay bales to climb on, open areas to run in, small games to play, & a fairly easy corn maze to walk thru. We did it all - though we did not pay extra to go thru the pumpkin patch. There were a couple places serving food - one served pizza, the other burgers & the like. The food was ok...kinda reminded me of the type of food you might get at a high school football game. There was also a stand serving apple cider donuts, but we didn't make it in time to buy any before they closed. I definitely want to go back next year! We had a blast! read more

Our family went to the farm today because we were looking for pumpkin picking places. We were very happy to see what else they had to offer! The corn maze was great! If you have the time, do the longer one! Maybe try the short one as a trial run. It was fun! We let our two eight year olds lead the way. There were so many different things to do that the kids were running all over finding something different every time they turned. We had a blast! Today we had a blast at Wayside Farms my boys saw a pig race, went on tractors slides, had a blast in the sand box. To me this place was just the right amount of people with the right amount of family fun. They had animals and hay rides and of course a pumpkin patch. They also had a pumpkin smash where the big pumpkins were dropped from a safe controlled parameter for your entertainment I thought of Gallagher lol...There were wheel tunnels (life size hamster wheel) where plenty of kids piled in and ran until their hearts content, either way we were happy to support such a family farm. Visited here today with the family and it was so much fun! For only $10 you can ride a hay ride, go through a corn maze, watch a pig race, see pumpkin drop and see lots of farm animals. They also have a pumpkin patch so you can pick your own pumpkins for I believe .60 a pound! Easy drive down Route 7! I definitely recommend this place that is full of fun for the whole family! A farm owned by a family. You can't help but appreciate that, especially if you're a local, but what they offer, especially for the 10 dollar asking price, is lacking. Before we visited, my mother called to check prices and to ensure that all the activities were covered under the general admission. She was told they were, so herself, my wife and I, and a family friends younger daughter packed in the car for a quick drive to the farm. 40 dollars later and were in the "fun zone". Up first? A "petting zoo" with a couple donkeys and baby cows that were hardly interested, or near, the visitors. Their areas looked well kept though and they looked healthy, so I can't complain, but don't advertise a petting zoo. It's more like a looking zoo. Fun right? Next up is the pig race. Mildly interesting for anyone below the age of 8. Moving on...the pumpkin drop. This was awesome, I can't lie, but it was over too soon. It involved an older gentleman lifting himself in the sky, and dropping pumpkins on to a big plastic barrel and watching them explode in a bath of gourd gore. Really cool, but as I said, it only lasted a couple minutes. Other notable activities include a pitching/hoop wall with unlimited balls. But beside that? A pumpkin cannon! Any kid (or adult who likes to blow crap up) would surely be interested right? Well guess what's not covered by that 40 bucks we just spent to get our family in to the farm? The pumpkin cannon. I unfortunately forgot the prices involved, but it's my opinion, and the opinion of my family, that they should more clearly label what IS and IS NOT covered by the entry fee, and also educate their employees better, as it being mentioned when we called would have been nice to know. The maze and hay ride are fun but rather boring (the young girls opinion) and are drawn out. Where was this lengthy time for the awesome pumpkin drop? Overall, if your kids are extremely easy to please and/or love the hell out of a maze and pig race (which was also extremely short) then you'll love this place. But if you're looking for value and something to occupy not only your children, but yourself, there are better alternative time wasters and distractions in the area for the same price. The numerous free parks in the area come to mind. Overall, a very underwhelming experience I would feel more comfortable paying 5 dollars for. That way I'll have a few bucks left over for the pay to play pumpkin cannon. read more

Cant believe no one has reviewed this place this year; anyways we go every year. Costs 10$ per person and we spend about 3.5 hours there. Corn maze is huge and almost everything is included in admission. They have an air gun that fires loads of pumpkins you pay for ammo, but worth it. Food is carnival prices, but expect that going in. Awesome atmosphere, the do not tolerate ghetto attitudes; watched a supervisor eject a fat guy endangering kids on the jump pillow. So great to see in todays lame a$$ society.
