Billy's Tree Service is an outstanding company with a truly hardworking and professional team. They…read moreconsistently go above and beyond to be helpful, and the results are often even better than expected. Billy has an impressive skill set and can handle jobs that many others simply can't--especially when it comes to maneuvering equipment through tight or challenging spaces to safely trim or remove trees. What really sets them apart is their attention to detail. The cleanup and landscaping afterward are always top notch, leaving everything looking neat, polished, and extremely presentable. They're also great at working with your specific needs and making sure you're happy with the final result. If you're looking for reliable, skilled, and genuinely great people to work with, I highly recommend Billy's Tree Service.

I had a casual conversation with Billy after I saw him working on my street. Although he came to…read morelook at my pine tree, gave me a verbal estimate, and stated he wanted to do the work the following week when the weather would be dry, I never authorized any work. I thought his price ($1,250) was too high, and I was highly skeptical of his diagnosis of southern pine beetles, what's more I always get three estimates before hiring a contractor and the estimate Billy gave me was only my first, besides I like to thoroughly research anything before deciding. Instead, after I stepped out to run an errand at Jiffy Lube, I returned home to find myself completely blindsided by his crew's trucks parked on my front lawn. The pine tree they worked on was inside a fenced-in area, and the gate was closed and completely padlocked. Without my permission, they bypassed this locked perimeter and entered my property while I was away, proceeding to cut branches and apply a trunk spray treatment. They applied this insecticide treatment immediately before a severe thunderstorm, which washed the product away almost instantly. Furthermore, they used and broke my personal backpack sprayer Afterward, Billy stopped responding to all messages. I later consulted another independent tree service, which stated that the trunk spray treatment he recommended is not standard practice. They noted that no legitimate tree service in North Carolina would apply insecticides in this manner because doing so strictly requires a specialized license, certification, and regulatory permits. I also contacted the North Carolina Agricultural Extension, which confirmed that his entire approach is completely improper and contraindicated for this situation. The job was entirely unauthorized, the treatment method appears agronomically unsupported, property damage was caused, and all further communication was completely ignored once they took the money. I have officially ended the business relationship and forbidden this business from returning to my property. I strongly advise property owners to avoid Billy's Tree Service. After the work was completed, I took this company to court over the issues described above. During the hearing the owner used my documented disabilities (including OCD) to try to portray me as unreliable or unstable in front of the judge. For the record, I have been a hospital volunteer for more than 22 years, regularly serving patients, staff, and visitors, and I also volunteer at the VA Clinic. These are long-term commitments that require reliability, consistency, and the ability to work with the public. Using someone's disabilities as a litigation tactic does not change those facts. Whatever disagreement we had over the work, I believe my disabilities should not have been used to attack my character in court.
