My sister, who lives near Cookeville, wanted to give me a haircut for my birthday on July 7th... a…read moreSaturday. She needed to pay over the phone, and I also needed to find a salon locally. I had been cutting my long hair myself for many years since a salon owned by a dear friend of mine's had butchered it years earlier, and it had taken quite some time to grow it out. I had a good feeling about this place when I looked it up... don't know why... so I called and spoke to the owner, Michelle. She is a DOLL!!! They are not open on Saturday, my birthday, but she had a lady who has worked for that particular salon for about 14 years, named Brenda, who would be at the shop ON THAT PARTICULAR DAY and could do my hair! She also would take my sis's payment over the phone... how awesome is that? I had decided to get a lob... long bob... since my cancer and medications have caused me to lose a lot and it was getting damaged. Besides, I'm getting a bit old to have such long locks! Anyway, scared or not, I committed to Saturday morning... I arrived about 20 minutes early, and bless this gal, she was early too. We got right to it and I explained my fears, and also showed her a pic of what I wanted, which she appreciated. I didn't need a shampoo, so we could skip that part and get down to business... and she made sure several times that I knew just how short the back would be, etc. Long story short... I LOVE MY HAIRCUT AND BRENDA! Plus, the pricing is fabulous!!! I only paid $15 for my "dry cut"... but I sure as heck tipped her $10! Please, y'all... remember to tip your stylist! They have to pay booth rentals and have other expenses... Needless to say, I now have a stylist and a salon... something I haven't had in many, many years. If you can't tell? I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!
