We hired Wayne Foster Entertainment for our wedding. The band itself on the night was incredible! Everything else left an extremely sour taste in our mouths. One of the things my wife and I agreed on was to prioritize a live band, so we went with WFE, the luxury option. We never haggled over price and spent a TON of time coordinating for the wedding. The day before the wedding they charge us an extra $550 (on top of the $10,000 already paid) for the emcee to be there on time. The emcee was included in our original contract, but I was told the $550 was a special reduced price for the emcee and sound workers to be there on time. Never got a response to my e-mail on the matter. On the day of the wedding both my parents separately come running telling me there's confusion about the pre-recorded music they're playing. We had gone over this information in extreme detail. Basically, issues that shouldn't come up when you go with the luxury option. The actual entertainment is fantastic, so if you choose to stick with them I recommend getting every single detail in the contract (down to the minute everyone is supposed to show up) before you pay a penny. My husband is in the music industry so I let him be in charge of picking our wedding band. When he picked Wayne Foster and I saw their prices, I almost died. But I must say it was well worth EVERY PENNY. They were incredible!! I am now 6 weeks post wedding and people still cannot stop commenting how good the band was. They knew what music to play when, and kept everyone up on the dance floor all night long. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone getting married in the southern california area. I have nothing but good things to say about this company. They made my wedding reception amazing!!! The planning before hand was so smooth and I really enjoyed working with all the people there. The music was great and they kept everyone up dancing all night. People are still raving about "the band" and how much fun they had on the dance floor. They gave out tons of props to the audience such as hats, tambourines, sunglasses, necklaces, etc. that really got everyone involved. I was so impressed too by the fact they never took breaks and that they actually did wardrobe changes throughout the night! They were a bit pricey but you REALLY get what you pay for and then some. Wayne Foster Entertainment is the BEST wedding band in San Diego, period. I have attended many weddings and personally think live bands are the only way to go. It makes the wedding so much more fun and festive then having a DJ - but that is just my opinion! So, having a band was a top priority for our wedding and we knew from reviews and recommendations from vendors and friends that there is no other band to even consider. We wanted fun music, nothing cheesy, and wanted people to dance all night. They are unbelievably professional and work with you on pricing. They did not scoff at our price range and we worked out a compromise for a full night of live music. And they WAY over delivered on their promises!! Everyone was on their feet dancing from the beginning of the night until the very end. The performers' voices were awesome and they stuck to our "must play" and "do not play lists". They had props that they passed out like hats, funny sunglasses, and sequined MJ gloves which were a huge hit. We heard later that people took the MJ gloves and busted them out at other weddings! We have been told over and over that they were the best wedding band people have ever seen. They made our special day into a legendary event and we are so happy we got to work with them! read more

Wow! Seriously, where to begin? Bonnie and the Wayne Foster team absolutely blew us away on our wedding day. Words can't describe the look on our guests face as they walked into the ballroom and to see Wayne on the piano and 12+ singers/musicians already rocking. They never stopped once (not 1 break!)..they changed outfits, sang opera, played the violin...and the list goes on! They played everything from Lady Gaga to the Beatles... Wayne Foster provided the entertainment during my wedding reception. They are THE BEST in San Diego. When we were looking for bands, we knew we didn't want a cheesy band. We wanted full entertainment. We also didn't want the songs that are overplayed at events. We went to Wayne Foster knowing that we would get quality and a good time. Wayne Foster is the most AMAZING band in the country, hands down! We recently had them play our wedding reception (and flew them all the way to the Lake Placid Lodge in NY to do so!) and we can't say enough good things about them... They coordinate everything flawlessly, are incredibly professional, flexible, and consistently go the extra mile to make everything 100% perfect. (In our case, this even meant bringing in an electrician to the venue to guarantee their specific sound needs were met!) The musicians are among the most talented in the business and the work ethic at WFE is unparalleled. We were incredibly particular in terms of our requests and they worked tirelessly to deliver on every single one. I honestly can't imagine how much time they put into learning our favorite non-standard (for weddings) 80s/90s/indie rock songs (and perfectly at that) - really, truly INCREDIBLE! In our opinion, music is the single most important element of a party and hiring WFE was the best decision we ever made. We've attended a lot of weddings (as have our friends) and we've never come across a band that remotely compares. We're nearly two months out and continuing to hear things along the lines of: "Wow, that was seriously the most amazing band I've ever heard...they sounded just like the artists in every song they played." We imagine people will be talking about "the band at our wedding" for the rest of our lives. Honestly. People of all ages were on the dance floor all night, having the time of their lives. Well worth EVERY penny!! We hired Wayne Foster Entertainment for our wedding and it was an unbelievable night! Beyond our expectations. They brought 11 talented performers. I would suggest spending a little extra and getting the props package. So much fun! I worked with Marin and Jackie and they offered incredible customer service from start to finish. They made the planning easy and the night was seamless. The band performed every song we requested. We were so honored to have wayne himself perform on the keyboard! It was a night we will never forget and our guests continue to talk about it. Only a few days before our party, we requested a last minute song for our final dance. We weren't sure if it would even be possible to play with such short notice, but we thought we'd give it a try and ask anyways. We utilized Wayne Foster Music / Jacqueline for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception music. Let me tell you, it was the best decision. Before we signed a contract I was able to sit down with Jacqueline to go over what I was looking for in a band, and from there she handled the rest. She nailed it! I've never seen so many people dancing at a wedding! The reception band knocked it out of the park, but to be honest, so did their cocktail hour and ceremony musicians. I could not be happier with my choice in band vendors. I was a bit nervous at first, as I feel like I heavily rely on online reviews and they didn't have many. Please do NOT let this deter you from hiring them. They are pricey, but SO WORTH IT. read more

These people have perfected what they do. I hired Wayne Foster for my wedding reception. I chose to get the "hybrid" option - which is a DJ and they had 3 singers/performers. I was worried if this would look like a bad karaoke night... but it was PERFECT! They offered entertainment for my cocktail reception free of charge. They are pricey - we paid about $3400 for this - but it was WELLLL worth it!! The performers rapped with some old hip hop songs, sang along with earth, with and fire, and were able to perform along with the top 40 radio songs. I sent them a list of songs that I wanted to hear that night and they played all of them! They were so friendly and entertaining. We danced all night. The days leading up to my wedding and planning/coordinating with WF was a piece of cake. Susan Foster met with us personally and helped us with a timeline for the reception and it was absolutely flawless. Hope you consider them ;) When you meet with them though - don't feel rushed into making a decision and deciding on a price (you may feel like this). Talk prices with them and I'm sure they can give you something within your budget. read more

We love Wayne Foster!!!! I cannot say enough great things about this group. When my (now) husband and I got engaged, the only thing he knew he wanted for the wedding was a great band. We found Wayne Foster, and Jacqueline invited us out to hear them perform at another wedding. Not even partway into the first song, we knew they were our band! Everyone was so nice and accommodating to work with, and I felt totally confident going into our wedding that they would be perfect. For our wedding, Wayne Foster provided a DJ and recorded music during the ceremony, cocktails, and most of dinner, then started in with the live music after dinner to get the party going. They did such a beautiful job singing our first dance songs, and then kept everyone energetic on the dance floor all night! We ended the night with Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" and they let us dance on stage with them. Looking out at our guests, it felt more like a concert than a wedding, and we loved every second. My parents and several guests have commented that they have never been to a wedding where the dance floor was always full, and it was completely thanks to Wayne Foster. If we ever throw another big party, we will absolutely ask them back! Completely worth every penny. They really made our wedding everything we wanted to be, and that is truly priceless. read more

I just Watched a band from the Wayne Foster organization last weekend at Rancho Bernardo resort in San Diego. I rarely wrote reviews on here, but felt compelled to say a few words. I am assistant to the CEO of a major record label an have made my living in the music business for 35 years. I may be more picky than a non-musician, but regardless, here are a few of my observations of Wayne foster entertainment: 1. A few of the singers were entertaining, and for the most part, the band was good. The energy seemed very low on stage, and it seemed as if Wayne Foster (the pianist) kept telling the band to be quiet. That is not the band's job, it is the job of the sound crew! And if musicians can't play up to a proper level on stage, then the music doesn't sound authentic. They were playing high energy dance music at a very low level. 2. The biggest gripe I had was a blonde woman who was on stage with the band. She was flapping her arms at the musicians, she screamed at a couple of the singers, and even elbowed one of the singers who got in her way. I noticed it and pointed her out to my table.. We spent the rest of the night watching this woman who we dubbed "superbitch" (lol) try to dance with the dancers and lipsynch with the singers. I asked one of the singers hat her name was and they said "Bonnie". But she was a huge distraction, and you could tell she was neither a singer nor a dancer, and she was dancing around and conducting the band, she was quite a distraction. Not sure why she was up there...And she definitely took away from the real performers. 3. As a pianist myself, I tend to listen to bands more than the layman, and I noticed that Waynes piano wa turned up WAY above the rest of the band, and he kept changing key in the middle of the songs randomly. I think he should think about retiring, lol. It made the whole band sound messy when it didn't have to. 4. I will also note that Wayne Foster charge quite an exorbitant amount for their shows, and I know that there are several other bands in the SD/OC area that are much better, and probably don't charge nearly the amount. read more

I have always heard how great the WFE group is at making a wedding or event spectacular, so I saved my money to hire them for my daughter's wedding which was supposed to be on August 1st in Malibu. However, a horrible accident outside of our rehearsal for the wedding resulted in the tragic death of the groom's brother/best man, so the wedding--and band--were suddenly cancelled. The Wayne Foster people were very kind and helped us find a date to reschedule this important day! In tragedy, the help of others becomes more important than even amazing talent, so I am writing this review prior to the new date for the wedding to let you know about the non-business side of WFE. Now, I look forward to hearing and dancing to their music at a different venue, Hummingbird Nest Ranch. I am so happy that I will have professional musicians who can get people dancing even after such a difficult time. I have 100% faith that this band will make the day joyous! read more

Wayne Foster Entertainment provided an AMAZING band last Saturday evening for our son's wedding in the Lodge at Torrey Pines. The stage set up & lighting were perfect, singers were beautifully attired, and best of all, they rocked the house!!! To our wonderful surprise, Wayne and Marin Foster personally came to our daughter's wedding and brought a highly talented group of singers, musicians and sound team with them. They were dressed to the T and performed straight through without a break, many of the great songs by the great bands over the ages. The attire, lighting, sound systems were excellent. The professionalism was noteworthy. My wife and I were blown away, but more importantly, my daughter and husband, and all of our guess raved about how good Wayne Foster band was. They engaged the audience from the beginning with a bride / groom dance and called everyone out to join them. Everyone did and had so much fun from the very first song that the dance floor was full all night long. When I stopped to watch, everyone was not just dancing, but they had these huge smiles and were laughing. The fun just happened. The singers would mix with the people dancing, engaged people and how they responded. Our guest constantly sang along. The performance of the band was at so very high of a level, that it was amazing. This is not just my opinion, it was everyone in attendance. Jackie and Marin Foster promised that this would be the best evening and that we would not be disappointed. We were thrilled, grateful and believe that we got so much more than our money's worth. The Foster's are great people.
