Seriously, everyone here…read moreknows what they're doing and it shows -- as someone who lives in LA I can honestly say that the level of professionalism to which they aspire puts some of our SoCal stations to shame. The AM channel features great talk and is always newsworthy and interesting, while the FM channel has a good variety of songs. It's always #1 on my presets when I'm up in OR. :)

If you listen during the day, it seems that they hand over their microphones to any yahoo or weirdo off the street with really far out ideas. The programmers seem to say to the long-haired barefoot bearded guy yelling at traffic, "Hey, why don't you come in here and preach your rants over the airwaves?!" The news on here seems to be on a purely local and biased basis. But that's okay, it's good to get the local viewpoints on things! It's nice to hear local politicians getting on the air and answering constituents' questions and addressing their concerns. I listen to KBOO over TuneIn online, but mainly tune in at night when they're not doing call in talk radio, and are just spinning the weirdest, most eclectic songs and bands. If you listen to this station long enough in the evenings, you're sure to find out some weird local bands. It seems that they play a lot of local acts and weirder stuff that's all pretty far out there. In all, it seems like this station is like if "Wayne's World" ran a radio station. The station doesn't have advertisements like other radio stations. It's a non-profit community radio station that is listener funded.
