Some retro. Same with the sodas in the fridge. What really sparked my interest was the sourdough starter and yogurt cultures. I only got the sourdough starter and I look forward to trying it. During the class you'll be able to pick your vessel and choose up to 3 scents for the candle. Choosing the scents was definitely the most tedious/time consuming part especially when trying to mix scents. After mixing the hot wax with the selected scent and pouring into the vessel, it needs to sit ~ 2 hours. Perfect opportunity to walk around the Blakeney Shopping center! They'll also hold the candles so you can pick-up at a later date. Items in the store were 10% off while there for the class. A glass of mimosa was included as well! The class was an hour long and cost $47.00. Would recommend!

I was a little apprehensive, even though i live and breathe design oriented stores. Just walking in made my adrenaline flow! I saw brands that i know and love and an eclectic bunch of accessories and "chotchkies" that make the store stand out from everyone else! The owners are brilliant with their buying and merchandising expertise and I'm now in love! The store fits in perfectly with the Blakeney vibe and demographic and I hope they grow and prosper for many years to come. What a pleasure it was to see such a beautiful shop and meet and work with some of the friendliest and most welcoming staff. I will be back, for sure!!!!

You'd walk in for the wonderful…read morescents, and right on cue, an associate would pop out from behind the body butters: "Hey, would you like a bag so you don't have to carry your items?" You'd think, No, I only came in for two candles... but then you'd say, "Ummm, yeah sure," and proceed to grab two more candles. Anyway, I walked up to the checkout counter today, and the cashier had no problem telling me to go wait over by the pickup orders. Meanwhile, there are about six other employees walking around the store, but apparently, only this one guy can hand me my order. He just ignored me and continued explaining the app to another customer. I also noticed him slipping those coupons we used to get in the mail right into her shopping bag. When did they stop mailing those out? Honestly, this is exactly why everyone orders online now instead of dealing with the in-store experience. I want a little energy when I walk into a store, and this location just doesn't have it. From now on, online orders it will be!

I went to an Waist bead event my friend invited me to at Happy Kat candles & Gifts. This event was for people to come and make a personalized waist bead. The event cost $25 and it was from 6pm-8pm At the event the host supplied some snacks and drinks for us. There was music playing and she supplied all of the items we needed to make our own waist beads. She had a variety of bead colors for us to choose from. We were socially distanced while making our waist beads. The host played a game with the customers while we were making our waist beads to pass the time. I arrived a little late to the event but it didn't stop me from making my beads I was still welcomed and there was no time limit to completed your beads. While we socialized and played games and made our waisted beads the time flew by. It was a nice event to get around people and do something fun especially after a long day of work and it be something relaxing and entertaining. After I made my beads the host helped me tie them and explained how to put it on and off. This event was really nice and I will be coming back again to make another one to get a variety of waist beads for my outfits.

Several powerful testimonies were shared from women who had gone through the House of Pearl's recovery program. Their testimonies of recovery from addiction are truly inspiring. The event was hosted outdoors. Refreshments were generously offered to all who attended this event. There was prayer, testimonies of recovery, and a beautiful song of worship at the end. I left inspired. I was given materials from the House of Pearl's booth which I will be sure to utilize to the women God brings across my path. I highly recommend the strawberry tea...taste like summer. We started with the cheese ball sampler. Not my fav as the flavors were not there. It came with 3 mini cheese balls; pimento, goat cheese and a garden veg with pineapple (IKR). Again, great presentation but none of the cheese balls had much flavor to match the name. For entrees we opted for the chicken salad sandwich, the chicken pot pie and the country chicken casserole. My sister loved the chicken salad, my mom just ate most of the filling of the pot pie, I was not a fan of the casserole (one note, no veggies and everything was mushy except the "herb" bread crumbs on top). Next time I will stick to tea and the lovely finger sandwiches and room for the lovely desserts from the bake shop.
