But I also did not want the birthday party to end up with all the kids sitting on the couch watching tv, so I hired Wax Creations to come out. I am saddened to write this review as we had a lot of excitement for this business. We hired them for our daughter's first birthday among other fun vendors. It was a terrible experience start to finish. The gentlemen they sent was very young, incredibly unprofessional and highly inappropriate. Multiple children got burned from his lack of attention and/or instruction. He was constantly on his phone texting and appearing very distraught to the point a 10 year old guest of our party asked him if he was okay, he bent over, head over knees and told this CHILD that he just found out his girlfriend cheated on him. You must be reading this thinking she's joking right?! I wish I were. He demanded food from the caterers, said he had just returned from Europe the day prior and was tired and hungry. No problem, help yourself, no one goes hungry at my house. Once he got his food, he made a huge scene trying to determine if there was any ham in any of the dishes. Such a cool thing to do for our Halloween party - fun for all ages and a great "party favor". Hired them for our annual Halloween party and everyone couldn't believe it. They raved over it and wanted their info. The guys are super professional. They arrived early to set up, started on-time and never stopped. I even extended their time another 30 minutes because people wanted to make "another one". We hired Wax Hands Creations to add to our daughter's Bat Mitzvah celebration. We've seen them several times before, and our daughter asked specifically for them to be at her party, which was mixed adults and kids. She had several of the "hands" at home and loves them. First of all, everyone enjoyed the craft... except possibly my daughter (the above Bat Mitzvah). She wanted to make more than one "hand" but only ended up with one (possibly because as the guest of honor she simply ran out of time... which is not anyone's fault). However, she didn't like the way that one turned out, either the shape of her fingers or the color used. As this is art, sometimes that's just the way it goes... but perhaps paying more attention to the sadness of the Bat Mitzvah would have been in order. So why the three star rating? They dropped off the equipment very early that day (which was fine) but didn't start until an hour after they were supposed to, then charged me for an additional hour. I had added the hour to the contract (back in May) but I would've expected them to charge me for the actual time they worked. Also, the two young men showed up for the party dressed in hoodie sweatshirts and cargo pants, not exactly party attire (dockers and a shirt would have been fine). Finally, I saw both of them getting food rather far from their equipment during the height of the party when most guests were accessing the entertainment. I asked one who he was and didn't get an answer until I told him who I was. Then he said, "Oh, I'm with the Wax Hands." Frankly, I wasn't sure if they just drifted in past security until he mentioned Wax Hands. I had, of course, included them in my meal count (despite the fact that they were only working 2.5 hours) but neither one had the courtesy to ask me. So: good entertainment, but don't expect them to pay a lot of attention to your guests, dress appropriately, or work the whole time. And do include them in your meal count. By the way, I tipped each attendant before they came back and asked me for the extra $100 dollars for the time they did not work. Hmmm... maybe two stars would have been enough. read more
