The groomer is now Sarah Gandy and we have had great grooming from her for 6 years. If you haven't been there for a while give Sarah a try. We have had several people comment how great out Pom looks after grooming. We highly recommend her. read more

Extremely disappointed is an understatement!!! No wonder there was an opening so soon when our regular dog groomer and others people recommended had a month wait time. We specifically said "trim, we don't want the poodle haircut" "just a little shorter " She practically skinned our poor dog. I am shaking writing this review. Please beware, if anyplace has an opening, regardless of what the service is being offered, while other businesses are booked, take it as a sign that no one wants to go there! I am a proud owner of three small dogs (all under 10lbs) and I've taken all three to petco & petsmart & was never 100% satisfied. We live in Waukee & one day I decided to give Waukee Pet Salon a try. Always a good dog grooming cut...if they unlock the doors. Twice I had an appointment set, showed up, waited and left after 20-30min. I've heard that I'm not the only one they do this to so it's pretty disappointing. When I have gotten my dog in, the cuts are just fine. We took our australian labroodle here and got her back completely shaved. She looks like a completely different dog! She has been licking parts of her body all week where I can only assume she was nicked. My brother took his dog there 2 days before us and got her back completely shaved too. As he said "one setting on the clippers". Don't take your dog here if you want your dog groomed! Obviously they don't pay attention to the breed and just do what's quickest and shave every dog. Asked for my dogs to be trimmed and they shaved them down to the skin in some spots. Told them to leave length on their faces and just trim them a little and their faces were shaved down also. Then there were spots they completely missed and had super long hair on one ear but the other ear was shaved. Just makes me think of someone that was in a super hurry and didn't care... Very disappointed and won't be going back. I'll drive across town before I'll go back there. read more

Horrible - Horrible- Horrible Experience!!! Took my puppy there for his first haircut and they did not follow my instructions at all! Told them to just trim and they clipped him extremely short! Left 1/2 inch of hair around his whole body. My little Shorkie has barely any hair left! They didn't even ask my puppy's name nor mine. I had to force my phone number on them in case they needed to contact me. Didn't check for vaccination records, even though I provided them. Gave the records to the owner/groomer, who didn't even look at them and she just left them on the counter. When I came back to pick up my puppy they were in the same spot on the counter where I left them- untouched. Never checked! Another big concern is that the records had all of my personal information (address, telephone number) on them - which was accessible to anyone that entered the store. When I went to pick him up, they just asked are you here for the puppy or the big dog? Because of course they couldn't remember his name as they didn't write down anything!! And the cost was about 10-20% higher than other groomers. Will NEVER go back! read more
