Meet the Business Owner: Charles W.
Charles began flying at the age of 16 and earned his private pilot certificate just after his 17th birthday. He continued flying through college at Vanderbilt University. Charles went to work as a programmer at Tapscan Inc. and eventually became a Senior Vice President in charge of software development. Tapscan earned a 92% market share in the television sales software industry before it sold in 2000. Charles started a similar company, OneDomain Inc. in 2001 which also earned a commanding market share in the television sales software arena. Also in 2001 Charles earned his FAA Commercial license and his Certified Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI), and he fulfilled a dream of teaching pilots the fine skill of seaplane flying. Charles has expanded the business of flight training into helicopter, tailwheel, multi engine, unusual attitude, and spin training. Charles eventually sold the OneDomain business to WideOrbit. Since then he started TailWinds Technologies LLC.
