This would be a new one…read more Instead of the usual approach of driving to Harkers Island and then taking the ferry from Island Express over to the Cape, I thought let's do something different. Instead, I made a reservation with AB WaterSports to do their jet ski tour which departs from their dock on the Atlantic Beach causeway and goes out to the lighthouse. The setup here is very easy. The upside to that was, within reason, for two hours where did I want to go and what did I want to see? If you need help with that, AB has a large map of the area and Mike the owner can more than help you out with suggestions. I was easy and basically told Noah whatever he wanted to do and that I just wanted to head all the way to The Point on Cape Lookout, on a Google Map it would be Cape Lookout Shoals and on the way back I wanted to head close-ish to the Port of NC at Morehead City since they were busy with several ships loading at the time. No problem on either request. The ride in both directions is a hell of a lot of fun. Rippin' away dong 50-ish MPH while occasionally catching air from the wave of another passing boat or two...yeah, that's a hell of a lot of fun. Plenty of time at Cape Lookout, or if you want, Shackleford Banks or probably both for a bit to take some pictures, have water and enjoy the amazing weather. We got down to The Point, saw a pod of dolphins very close by and on the way back I got to see marine activity with two ships getting loaded at the same time. Regarding Noah...great dude. He knew all the best routes to see everything that could have been seen while always looking behind to make sure I was still there and checking up every now and again to make sure everything was going well. A+ Let me finish with this: Should you come to Atlantic Beach in general? Yes Should you come to AB Water Sports for any of their offerings ? Yes Will you have the time of your life? This is a review for a trip taken on Saturday, July 23rd. First off, had we caught more fish, this…read morewould have been a five star review. Capt Dale of the Sensation and his first mate, "Big Country" are all about business and are a first class crew. To be clear, I do not fault the crew for our lack of a "big haul" of fish, because Capt. Dale did everything in his power to find the fish. Most captains would have given up, but Capt Dale found the fish, and we managed to haul in 3 large Amber-jack, a big Wahoo, some Trigger Fish and Snapper. We wanted enough fish for a fish fry that evening, and the trip resulted in over 30lbs of fresh fish, more than enough. The Sensation is a beautiful boat, with everything you need for a day of offshore fishing. The fishing area is clean and spacious and the cabin is comfortable with COLD A/C, which was a must for this 95 degree day. We left at 0520 hours and returned at 1630. Capt Dale took us out approximately 40 miles in calm seas. The boat handled the trip beautifully. Back at the dock, I was curious to see if any other boats had a spectacular haul, but they didn't. We were one of the boats that probably fared the best that day and it showed in Capt Dale's dedication to ensure we didn't get skunked!! I highly recommend the Sensation for either a half or full day out on the water. You won't be disappointed!

Divers all know the tough part of diving is lugging their gear and tanks. Especially for days with…read moremultiple dives. The boat gets back to the dock and you rush to the dive shop to get refills for the next day or pick up tanks you already left the previous day. What if you didn't need to do that, that you showed up and your tanks were already filled, already loaded on the boat, along with your other gear? Sounds like a dream? Its a Reality!! Instigator Dive charters! We dove with them for three weeks. Every night they took the tanks and had them filled, checked, and loaded back on to the boat. Gear like BCs, Dive crates, Wet suits could remain on board as well. Everything was hosed down and ready for the next day when we arrived onto the boat in the early hours of the day. The team is deep, not just 2 or 3 people. We dove with at least three teams to support us, assist with gear, etc. Cindy and Ryan talked with the divers, understood their ability, their interest in the dive, and their Dive Plan for the day. Cold Water was provided, the team made sure you stayed hydrated. Instigator really provided a dive experience above any other I have had to date. Thank you Instigator Dive Team!!
