I don't know much about the church but the coffee shop is delightful. Just down the stairs are shelves of CDs and books but also a cute coffee shop with cozy seats and joyful staff. Fair trade coffee is on offer as are mince pies and truly delicious veggie cheese muffins, which I could probably eat a million of if I spent sufficient time there in a single sitting. The book section has become a bit attenuated but still has a very good selection of general antiquarian books and is well worth browsing. Frew himself is very knowledgeable and helpful, as is the staff. It is very nice that a classic old bookshop such as this still exists and is worth visiting, especially if you're in the Science Museum area of London.

Gayle found a book she was looking for and a gift for back home. It was a fun and good outing, but not a great one. The place was clean and shiny, and with attentive and helpful employees. That's good and sometimes not. And if given more time, I'd would have preferred to be in a dusty independent specialty bookseller.
