I want to give a shout out to Thomas Bartley A to Z contractors…read more I've worked with A to Z Contractors multiple times, and every experience has been excellent. The quality of their craftsmanship is top-notch, they are always on time, and they really listened to and respected my budget. Communication throughout the process was clear and consistent, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. Lisa went above and beyond--she helped me pick out finishes while I was working full time and even coordinated everything while I was out of the country. That level of support made the whole process so much easier. I first used A to Z when they put a new roof on my mom's house in Old Bridge and later on my own home in Monroe Township. Our latest construction project was to redo my mom's bathroom and laudry room after a major leak which damaged both rooms. I felt completely comfortable having their team in my 95-year-old mom's home, which says a lot about their professionalism and trustworthiness. I highly recommend A to Z Contractors for any project--they truly deliver quality work with outstanding service.

We hired Tom Bartley A to Z contracting to put an addition on my moms house. His work is very poor…read more The doors didn't close right. The window locks won't engage because the windows are not square. Many of the roof rafters didn't reach the facia board. The roof started to leak where the addition met the original house. The HVAC system never worked correctly. He was doing other jobs at the same time so a lot of days no one showed up. The job took a long time. Then months in to the job he wanted more money. Thousands over the original quote. We said no and He walked off the job and left it half done. He was very rude and nasty. My mom passed away shortly after and when we tried to sell the house it failed inspections for electric, structure, foundation and HVAC. We had to sell as is and lost a lot of money. What a nightmare!

Lack of communication... I've emailed, called need l them to come back and fix what they said they…read morewould fix. Getting water into my garage while it's raining...they told me I wouldn't get water inside once they finish the driveway but I am.

This company should be avoided. (Edit: removed reference to bad website. The error was mine)…read more They worked on a few driveways in my neighborhood, and offered me a cash deal because they had the materials. The price was on the low end, so that is good. But their work was sub-par, even at a discount. The asphalt was messy. It carried over to my sidewalk and patio, and covered a water access panel in my driveway. I had to go out with a scraper and clean this up myself. They told me they would come back and fix it the next day, but they didn't. Even though they still had work in the neighborhood the next day. The work was uneven. I will have pits and divots collecting ice in the winter. Granted, it is better than what I had before, but professionalism should dictate better work. I was told they offered a warranty, but they never bothered to come back to drop it off. Not really a surprise. Looking at the work in the neighborhood, it seems they failed to complete any of them to satisfaction. They also offered to seal my driveway. I wasn't interested in an other cash deal, but said I would think about it. They said they would return and we could discuss it, but they never did. Fortunately, I did the research and found out you should wait 90 days to seal a new driveway. Had I taken their offer, I would have created permanent driveway issues as the sealant would be spotty on new asphalt. The end result, I paid a low price and have a better result than I started. But I had to do the finish work myself, and almost got talked into a permanent problem. They were unreliable, failed to return when they said they would, and seemed to leave a few neighbors in a similar position. Just tell them no thanks and look for a real professional.
