Working with waterside was great and there customer service was unbelievable. I had a mobile app developed by the company for my business and they exceeded my expectations and more. They were easy to communicate with and met my deadline with time to spare. I had an amazing experience working with this company and would not hesitate to work with them again. Simply put. I called my bank and they are going to do a charge back because he did not deliver the application. After an informative beginning. His communication came to a halt. I have a long string of text and emails requesting any kind of updates. Matt actually sent me this email after missing 4 deadlines. I quote" "I'm sorry it has been a busy weekend. I'm going to sit down and work on this as soon as I have time...most likely this evening. I'll let you know if I encounter any issues." I needed a project done in 48 hours which Matt Langan agreed he could do, and more than a week later he's barely done anything, and in fact made the site worse than when he took the project on. I would suggest you avoid working with Waterside. One of the most dishonest and incompetent business experiences of my life. I hired them to do some onsite SEO work and a small web development task. Matt Langdan assured me that he was working on the SEO throughout the month. However, to do the work he would have had to log into a content management system. Log records showed he never even logged in. They agreed to return the $500 but something always came up. Our credit card processor is having trouble, I'll mail a check, etc, etc. Never saw the money. On developement side - it was simple creation of a wordpress template and page. Somehow managed to turn the entire site into that page and the page was not functional at all. Good salesman. Horrible company. Hired to turn over in a week, 2.5 weeks later nothing to show for it. Matt Langan agreed to have it completed. Wish I had saw the previous review before hiring him. Everything the other review said is true. Uncommunicative, avoids phone calls, entirely unprofessional. The work had vast amounts of bugs and when it was determined that he was sending the assignment oversee (YES OVERSEAS!) communication was cut off entirely. We caught this kid in his scam! Fortunately we were able to recoup some of our down payment but still being out $100 to get jacked around for 2.5 weeks and to be off schedule now is the price we had to pay to learn how incompetent this "company" individual is! Hired Matt to create a social media site for me, but instead all they did was farm my job out to a guy in india, used a generic source code, and did only the most minimal amount of work on the site ( And I mean minimal ). They created a site which was at its best only barely functional and then sent me the bill for the remainder of the 6,000.00 + job. If you are a person who likes having your website refinement questions snubbed at, having conference calls flaked on, and then additionally being ignored for 5 days after that, they might be right for you. You will get responses to your questions like, '' We did the code '' -- '' what are your concerns '' -- '' We are working diligently on your site '' but in reality all they are doing is hiring the cheapest person possible in any other country to make extremely simple, dysfunctional sites and failing to complete even that much. 2 Words: Middle Man I would avoid working with this company, they are very dishonest in their business practices. They are just trying to middle man websites. They try to contract out all of their work for $100-$200 per website, yet sell them to customers with a huge profit increase. Contracting out some of the work is not bad but they are a web development company and do not have a single web developer working for them. The system they use to implement this method is very unprofessional and dishonest. They have a tendency to always point out how the "client" did something wrong and get defensive. I do not believe the customer is always right. But it just seems to be a common theme that they do not take responsibility for the fact that their business structure is unreliable and their deliverables are hit or miss because they are working with a new outsourced asset daily. read more

Very dissatisfied. I have a background in sales for website development, and I represented a team of web developers and designers, so I'm no stranger to this industry. That said, I have to agree with the other negative reviews here. Awful experience. Matt Langan responded to a Craigs List ad I posted to do a very simple, basic website. We chose a simple template, and I provided the content, with very explicit instructions. I had a deadline, as I needed that website up and running for a conference I was attending (I needed to refer potential clients to the site). This should have been a slam-dunk. It was a very easy assignment, with very little, if any, back-end coding necessary. Matt assured me it could get done in time with no problem. He also upsold me on hosting for one year, which I agreed to. Long story short, the website was not complete by the deadline. Further, once it was up, it began experiencing problems and kept crashing. Text and images kept shifting all over the page, out of alignment. It took me repeated emails and phone calls to reach Matt. Finally -- a few days late -- and with my conference already beginning -- the site was finally back up. Sadly, about a month later, it was down again...and has stayed down throughout 2013. Lucky for me that I didn't need the website anymore, but that's not really the point. Waterside Media failed to deliver. I got all kinds of excuses about how they had recently hired a brand new hosting company, and gotten rid of the old one, after some sort of problem. Matt swore up and down that this kind of thing had never happened before, and promised that it would be fixed. Well, the fix was temporary, and unsatisfactory. The site only cost me a few hundred dollars, including the hosting fee, so I'm not out all that much money. However, I'm still steamed. I paid for 12 months of hosting that never happened. And I paid for a website that however simple and basic, didn't work. I opted to renew my domain name, just in case I need it for future business, and emailed Matt at the beginning of December to ask him to remove any code from the site. Not surprisingly, my email bounced back and failed to deliver. I now see that the Waterside Media website itself is down. I'll take this to mean that they're out of business. If they're not, they should be. If you can't handle a simple 3-page template website with virtually no back-end coding and the easiest of content, then you don't deserve to be in this line of work. read more

Do NOT use this person or company. Got taken for $ 1000. Said he was a Shopify (ecommerce software) expert. Sent material & down payment and after 15 business days had produced one page. Matt Langan (owner) gave excuse after excuse, would not take phone calls and made deadline promises he never kept. I have asked repeatedly for refund and my material to be returned but hides behind lame refund policy. Highly unprofessional and incompetent. I also made a mistake in hiring him. We attempted to use him for a fighting app and it turned out he had outsourced the whole thing to India, didn't pay the company he used in India, and then took our down payment, sent a reimbursement then canceled the check. We never saw one thing completed, and ended up losing about $4,000. I would beg whoever is considering hiring this person to please look elsewhere, if your money and time mean something to you. read more
