Great service delivered by the pastor every time I have been there. Blessed youth and children's ministry.

The Chapel at Seaside is quite extraordinary, and Jesus is there…read more The Chapel structure is a beach chic motif and architecturally stunning. The music is superb too. The first song at the Christmas Eve service was what seemed to be a hip, boho version of "O Come All Ye Faithful" with a violin and a guitar, and it was fabulous. The spellbinding message was captivating too. Andrew Beard, the pastor, is an eloquent, spellbinding speaker who masterfully weaves together real life and scripture. After the service, I misplaced my phone, so I went back to the church to see if I left it there. The person I happened to ask about it was Sarah Beard, the pastor's wife, and she immediately stopped what she was doing to help me. My phone didn't turn up at the church building, so she offered to call my number and walk outside to my car with me to see if we could find it, and we did find it. Sarah did not have to help me, but she did! That was just "wow to me, and her humility and servant heart speaks to her Christlike character. She reminded me that there are Christlike people among us in this dark world. Thanks to the Beards for being Jesus to me on Christmas Eve! Jesus is alive and well in Seaside! - "'Putting on Christ'...is not one among many jobs a Christian has to do; and it is not a sort of special exercise for the top class. It is the whole of Christianity. Christianity offers nothing else at all." ~C.S. So glad our vacation included a Sunday so we could attend a service here today, the Sunday before July 4th. Pastor Wingo brought a message on freedom, "Highway to Eternity: Fear to Freedom!". Scripture verse was Psalm 119:45, "I will walk about in FREEDOM, for I have sought out your precepts." A great message and a church that is nondenominational and has a heart for missions. The Sunday service is at 10 a.m. The sign says "Come as you are" so casual attire is welcomed! The chapel is an architectural beauty set within the trees on the back part of Seaside. Don't miss attending a service if your vacation includes a Sunday!

What a beautiful church with an architectural cruciform style creating a cross right in the middle…read moreof the main nave typical of Judeo Christian churches with the altar oriented on the Eastern end. This is only the second church i come across with wood paneling on the ceilings and that is worth every penny because the acoustics are incredible perfect, no matter where you are standing the echo and reverberation are minimized, I was able to understand every single word during the beautiful homily. I am hard of hearing and there is nothing more frustrating than not being able to decipher what the priest is saying. Kudos to the architect and designer of this beautiful building The Holy Saturday homily was a bit long but understandable due to the readings and baptism of about 10 new converts who took the dunking in holy water in the fountain by the main entrance The homily included a bonfire that was lit just outside the atrium and we all went out with a candle in hand, the fire simbolices the light of Christ winning over the darkness of sin. After a brief prayer to thank the Lord for the Resurrection of Christ we all walked back into with our lit candles, symbol of new light of the world; shortly after that the lights in the church were turned back on. The bonfire was a first for us, beautiful ceremony in a beautiful church and a happy Easter service.

I was angry with him, and I kinda called him out. And being god, he could have taken me out, but he didn't. Instead, he snuck up on me. In the midst of my anger with him, I decided to go to beach church again - now that it's back. But I didn't expect much. Going last Sunday felt like more of an obligation than a desire. But I went anyway. Church bulletin in hand, I sat my beach chair away from everyone - in the white sand. I didn't want to be near or talk to those people. And as the worship leader sang, I didn't sing along. I was here out of obligation, not desire And as the preacher began to speak, I looked at the bulletin for the first time, and a chill ran down my spine. Why the chill? The message was about having confidence in god - right in the midst of me losing confidence in him. I didn't see that coming. But surprised, I listened, and it seemed that god was talking only to me. And I cried! Good thing I sat off by myself. Thank you, god, for your tender mercy with me and reminding me that you are near. And thanks to Hope on the Beach Church for being god's mouthpiece that day.

As an Anglican, I love celebrating together each week with the liturgy, prayers and Eucharist. Father John and Father Scott are wonderful, warm people who have such a depth of knowledge about church history and love of the scripture. Chad and the music team do a beautiful job blending contemporary music and traditional Christian hymns, and it's my humble opinion that our music is probably some of the best around. Finally, maybe most improbably, the community of people here are incredibly warm and welcoming. We felt right at home shortly after arriving and have really enjoyed getting to know the community. After a season of spiritual dryness, Apostles has been a refreshing and encouraging place to land.
