The very first time I went was like home coming; nearly every person present came up to me and shook my hand and/or gave me a hug. The services begin with instrumental music and singing by professional and ex-professional musicians and singers. Thus the nickname "The Rock & Roll Church." It…read morewas my first time at the new location with my family of 6 and I was asked to leave by a guy named Anthony, not because my baby was being loud, but just because he saw that I had a baby and wanted to prevent a disruption of their recording of the service. He asked me to step out and said my only option was childcare or watch the service from the other room. This raises many red flags and is a huge problem in churches today, not only for children but people with distracting disabilities as well. Glad it happened early on so that I didn't waste any more time at this church.

Village is just great. Doctrinally sound, outstanding preaching, reasonably contemporary worship but a decent number of hymns mixed in, lots of good Bible study and fellowship opportunities. But perhaps most important from the perspective of the sort of folks likely to read this review, the church is almost right on the beach, literally in the heart of Destin, almost directly across US 98 from Destin Commons. Which means...you have no excuse to miss church, lazy vacationers! And even better yet, if all you have is beach attire, they're cool with that: come as you are (you might want to cover up the bikini's, of course). This is a great place and you'll be glad you came.

The priest is friendly and the homily isn't too long winded. The point is driven well, concisely without being too stuffy. I really love coming here, and I feel like I learn something each time. The cathedral itself has great high ceilings and tons of natural light which I feel is super important in a house of God. Fantastic parish- If you're visiting in the area (or have just moved here like I have) I really suggest you check this one out :) Oh and super cutes!!! The children bring up food during the offering of the gifts, and its so ADORABLE to see all the little ones racing up to put in their can of (x,y,z) in the basket. They also greet and hug each other on the alter. Super super cutes!
