La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary is great for people who want a nice experience of Australian wildlife, but don't have the money to go deep into the outback. I fit the bill, and I genuinely really like this place! It is quiet, serene, and even better if you play the Jurassic Park theme song in your head while wandering through the pristine jungle-like reserve. Prepare to meet KANGAROOS! We saw some adorable kangaroos and silently watched them for a bit of time. Because the kangaroos aren't kept in cages or enclosures, the experience at this wildlife sanctuary is even better than an actual zoo! The kangaroos are free to roam - just be careful not to piss anything off! La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary is a fantastic nature experience and I would definitely bring anyone here. In fact, it makes me quite jealous of students attending La Trobe University! They get easy access to a beautiful reserve!~

But this is their day and it's a place any child would happily divorce their parents to move into 24/7 if it was an option. Lots of slides climbing gear etc etc ( you can tell I'm impressed huh?) but an adequate cafe, coffee wasn't too bad either! So here I sit happily dreaming of day spas while my kids scream with glee amongst the tens of hundred of other kids doing the same thing......bliss.

I want to talk about my experience with this swimming facility. It has been nearly one year since…read moreI enrolled my son ( two and half ) years old for swimming lessons. Over the past year, my child has not made significant progress and most of the time, even during the training sessions, which is only half and hour a week.The instructor did not dedicate enough time to my child. The former instructor left the centre ,then a new instructor was assigned to my child. The instructor was unable to establish even a friendly relationship with my child over last three sessions so when my child did not follow her instructions, she behaved inappropriately. My child would attend each session with tears and distress. The instructor ( Christy) even refused to greet nicely every time. I would not recommend this centre to my friends at all. Even though they charge 25$ for half and hour session, which is billed monthly in advance and they do not refund the amount under any circumstances.Despite this, they do not dedicate enough time in their work, which is disappointing.Teaching children under three years old requires patience and kindness, which unfortunately my child's instructor not only failed to provide a safe and welcoming environment to encourage him to learn swimming but also caused trauma to him.My child no longer wants to attend swimming lesson even at other centre.

There is also an outdoor gym which is a great idea- I don't know any other gyms with one. There is a basketball stadium and outdoor tennis courts which are free for members to use, or public hire for a small fee. Group fitness classes vary in length (15min, 30min, 45min or 55min) so you can choose something to suit your schedule. There is a good variety of group fitness classes, with some modern ones like body barre and kettlebell. Occasionally there are meditation classes on a Friday night for a gold coin donation. There are plenty of family activities at this YMCA. Karate and gymnastics classes for kids, and gym and group fitness classes for the adults. All the personal trainers and staff are very friendly and learn all the customers names, a good community feel. Memberships here aren't the cheapest you will find, but I guess that's because there's not much competition around this area.
