Why I cancelled our service with Waterman 911 today:
Our well pump died a couple months after we started with their service. The tech said it was probably due to a bad pressure switch that was causing the well to run for too long. I asked how to know when the switch is going bad, and the tech said that checking it was part of the service (and yet they never recommended replacing the switch).
When they replaced our well pump, we agreed that they would take away 250 feet of superior quality pipe and replace it with the same length of standard quality pipe, and also the same length again of the standard quality (and used) pipe for me to keep for future project materials. That was the deal we made, and it was written on the invoice. After we paid for the well pump replacement, they never delivered the extra 250 of used pipe.
Soon after they replaced the well, I lightly bumped the out-of-ground equipment when walking past it. A pipe snapped and water came gushing out. They replaced the broken pipe and several other pipes leading to it. The tech said he was using a stronger replacement pipe so there shouldn't be as much risk of it breaking again. The cost of this fix was on me. I happened to call them after this to ask where the pipes were from the well pump replacement (see above). They were confused as to why I was calling and told me they had intended to come out with a reinforcement pipe that they would lash to the recently fixed pipe for support. I reminded them to bring the 250 ft. of pipe they promised when they came. They never came out that week. I called the next week and spoke to Tommy. Now, let me just say that Tommy is as rude as can be. He just randomly starts talking to other people when he's talking to customers on the phone, without saying excuse me, or covering the phone, or anything to let you know he's not talking to you. When I called this time, I said who I was and spelled my last name. He blurted out, "YOU'RE WHO FROM WHERE?". This instantly put me on edge. I asked (again) when they were going to deliver the pipe and do the reinforcing thing. I also asked why reinforcement was needed and why the job couldn't have been done in a way to guarantee no future breakages. He was constantly chatting with other people, and one of them blurted out, "IT'S A BAD DESIGN". So, I asked (again) why we couldn't have discussed a better design before the work was done. He also mentioned that it was a plastic pipe going into a copper switch that caused the fragility of the "design". But the plastic pipe didn't break at the copper switch, it broke at a point below the switch. I was trying to work this out with him, and then he started having some kind of conniption, saying things like, "AH, THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR TRYING TO EXPLAIN THINGS" and "I DIDN'T KNOW THE FULL STORY AND NEITHER DO YOU". I said (still calm at this point) that I was just trying to get a clear picture of why the pipe broke, how to fix it permanently, and why a more permanent solution was not sought in the first place. That's when Tommy said, "WELL YOU'RE AGGRAVATING ME!" And there was nothing pleasant about the way he said it. At first, I thought he was still talking to someone on his end, but it soon became obvious he was talking to me. He said, "Just tell me what you want me to do!" I said that I wanted him to deliver the pipe he owes me and cancel my service. He said, "FINE, I WANT TO." and hung up.
