We missed so many shops in Michigan because they wouldn't allow well behaved dogs! Their loss! The owner, Sabrina, is as sweet as her shop! There are SO many wonderful things at reasonable prices and the place is bigger than it looks! It's neat, tidy, and well organized. My only complaint is that it is over 2 hours from where I live! I found a sweet artist print that I took home but had to pass on a furniture piece that we didn't have room for! Don't miss this one if you love antiques, collectibles or home decor!! I didn't want to spoil the surprise. Anyway, without further ado, my review of Touches of Time Antique Mall: I love antiques! I love anything that's old, any thing that reminds me of the past. My favorite subject growing up was history... still is one of my favorite types of book to read. I just feel like I was born in the wrong time. More over, one of my favorite hobbies is shopping for home decor. I love making my home more beautiful and comfortable. Antique stores, which combine both my love of old things and my love of decor... is one of my favorite types of store to shop in. Touches of Time, is one of the better antique stores I have been to and has become one of my favorite stores in my new home town of Van Wert. I have come several times already. I have bought items for myself including beer steins, antique candle holders, and other items. I bought my friend apple some cute gifts from here, that she loved. I also came here during the 2020 Van Wert Chocolate Walk, which they were involved to giving out free chocolate. This store is just wonderful, it has items of all kinds: Christmas decorations, books, furniture, collectibles, tools, a huge grandfather clock, coins, etc. Come here often because there is always sometime new and interesting here to find. Place is huge, three floors for you to explore! What more can I say about it, except that you need to come check it out!

This is the worst thrift store I've ever shopped in. It's filthy and crammed full of over-priced…read morejunk. They charge too much for junk that's damaged and no good. You can pay less at Wal-Mart or Meijer for new items; because a lot of items here cost more used then new. They had a 50% off sale over Memorial Day weekend, but had marked items up just so customers paid more. They also didn't put any more items out on the shelves. The signs posted said everything was 50% off, but they excluded three color tags, which was half the items in the store. Skip this store. Don't bother going here! We left and went to the Goodwill Store, which was also having a 50% storewide sale, everything was on sale! And they were still putting more items out on the shelves. Better store, better staff, better stuff.

We came from Indy and it was worth the trip. We already have plans to come back to try other restaurants and some festivals! What appears as just an antique shop opens up to a surprise little kitchen/menu. They had dirty soda (which my mom was obsessed with), homemade popsicles, a little menu that I believe rotates, cookies, scones, coffee and some other beverages. We got the soup which was corn chowder, orzo shrimp salad, snickerdoodle, monster cookie, and two dirty sodas (coke). They are constantly updating stock which includes yard art, tools, wall hangings, hunting decoys, some furniture, and a lot of ceramic collectibles, knick-knacks, and artistic objects. And they have two cute pups! They are situated on the US 12 Heritage Garage Sale route, which is held annually and is 200 miles long.

The week of January 11th, 2021 when I entered the store I was shocked to see owners (or I think they are) not wearing masks. I realize for some people this is a personal choice yet when one is running a business and elect not to wear a mask is unsetteling. One other employee was there and she never wore a mask. At that point I should have left the items I intended to purchase yet I thought I would distance myself. Then there were a small family of customers that weren't wearing masks either! Went to the counter to pay, used the hand sanitizer that was on the counter and the lady checking me out scolded me as the sanitize was runny and got on a newspaper! Excuse me, not my fault the stuff was like water. I don't like wearing a mask yet with a spouce with COPD and taking care of a 92 year old mother in law, I don't have a choice. Plus I'm a 70 year old that does not want to get COVID. I will never set foot in that store again. Instead I'll make the short drive to MI where store owners adhere to the requirements. Product wise it's a nice store with variety. Take your chances entering this establishment. My husband loved going through their old LP records yet there are too many other antique stores in the area that sell them too.

Prices are pretty reasonable. The owner is friendly and inviting, she has a good eye for fun pieces and is always changing out inventory. The parking lot is small and can probably only hold about five vehicles, so park thoughtfully! Keep in mind that this business is only open every other weekend or so and to be up-to-date on hours or any store changes, definitely visit their Facebook page.
