Picked up grouper on Sunday the 23rd. When preparing the fish we noticed a horrid smell and black spots all over the fish. We cut out one of the black dots to inspect and it was a parasite. Every piece had a parasite in it and the smell was disgusting. When buying the fish wasn't even labeled as grouper and we asked just to clarify that we were getting the correct fish. For years this place has been my go to for fresh seafood in kemah. Today I went in and got a few things 1 item being a large filet of salmon. I was given a piece different from the 1 I requested but I decided to let it go. They gave me a piece from the bottom of the pile and when I got it home to take a look at it, it was horrible. Washed it 3 times and the awful smell wouldn't go away. I rushed to take it back before closing and was then given a piece cheaper than my original piece but they didn't think I noticed. The staffs behind the seafood counter were friendly and helpful. The price was not so cheap but acceptable. But the lady at the cashier booth (I assumed she's the owner) was so rude. She didn't even smile or say thank you after I paid. I asked for a napkin, she didn't respond but ended up giving me a tiny piece. So weird. read more

Bought a 38lb sack of "live" crawfish from this place this past Saturday, 02/22/2020. Literally, 50% of them were dead as we separated the live from the dead. If we weren't in Deer Park I would have taken them back but not at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon with the Hwy 146 construction. Soooo, or normal go-to place down here has started to fall short of the mark, in terms of selection and...shall we say a distinct odor. That's not something you want from a place selling fresh seafood. We saw this newer building and shop and decided to give them a try and were pleasantly surprised. The seafood here is fresh smelling and fresh looking. VERY nice. they have a good selection, despite being a smaller shop. The guys working the counter are very nice and helpful. We've bought mostly shrimp and clams here. Shrimp are VERY VERY fresh right now, never having been frozen. The clams are also nice. One word of caution, they're not really well purged, so plan on doing that for yourself when you get home. read more

I truly want to know who the owner is of this place. I never had an issue til today and have purchase seafood at this place a few times. I went in today to buy some live crabs and crab legs. I spent 114 dollars. The cashier, the only female took the 2 bags of crabs to weigh them, bought the bags back and took payment. my daughter who was with me today had asked for some ice and of course we need the brown paper bags to be put in plastic bags. Some 3 minutes later I am still waiting on her to throw some ice in the brown paper bag and place the paper bags in a plastic bag. She walked towards the ice and got diverted, went back to the register and started to take payments from other customers, another 2 minutes I grabbed the bags to the front and started to put ice in the bags myself. A coworker who was standing behind the fish had grabbed the bag and said in a rude tone, " give me a minute". I replied I already waited several minutes, he replied. " That don't have anything to do with me". I told him to just put the ice in the bag, he throw the bag back and stated, "You put your own damn ice in the bag. Of course I was upset and told him he need to watch who he talks to like that. He started to cuzz and I just took my bags that was not placed in a plastic bag because he called me a Bit** and I was about to lose it and felt it best to just leave, there was children present at the time. I get home to find crabs in my trunk out the bags. My daughter called and asked for the managers name and the lady hung up on her. No one should support an establishment that allow worker to speak to a customer as this person did, it wasn't too much of a issue that he was rude as it was him cursing and calling me a bitch. I would admit leaving I finally use fowl language, I said " Get back to your fuc**g job, which is not in my character, but he called me a Bit**more than once. No one literally did nothing, and to think this man may still have a job after feeling comfortable enough to call me a bitch in front of other customers is unheard of. read more

DO NOT GO THERE!!! This is the worst place to buy seafood. The customer service was horrible and they have no idea what they are doing. My parents stopped there on their way out of town to pick up some shrimp and to check out what fresh fish they had. Not only were they unfriendly, but they are lying to customers about the product they were selling. Prices were ridiculous for being so close to the water. They deceived my mother into buying some sort of snapper when it was TILAPIA!! They even had a sign that advertised it as snapper. While most wouldn't know the difference, I myself have been in the seafood business for quite sometime. I couldn't believe they were pushing tilapia as snapper. People depend on the experts to guide them to good product, especially when it comes to seafood. The only agenda these people have is MONEY not customer service. LIARS, LIARS, LIARS. They have no idea what they are doing nor do they care. read more
