I grew up going to this temple among a very tight-knit Lao community to pray, play, and have gotten to see it expand in the last two decades. The community has really banded together to make major improvements to the infrastructure to offer better thuk baht (Lao monks' morning collection of food) and communal gathering experiences for all. I've taken classes to learn to read and write Lao with monks as a kid with family, participated both as an athlete and spectator in organized tournaments, and of course, celebrated many different occasions from Lao New Year to Boon Pravet. The community is also very welcoming of visitors as long as they're respectful of the property and mindful of their presence around the monks. read more
