Dannenhauer mentioned in the other review: case.net 24RL-PR00003 and 20LE-CV00238-01 Uncle Danny (as I called him) died fighting for justice, he unknowingly trusted Mr. Briscoe. Instead of Briscoe telling my uncle it wasn't ethical to represent him in the lawsuit because it was Briscoe's own legal errors. Briscoe called Wasinger, with my uncle in his office, but could only reach Maune. At no time did Maune mention that my uncle had a legal malpractice case against Briscoe. Not until my uncle was talking with a friend who said, "I think you should speak with another lawyer," did he realize what had happened to him. In normal speak, it was a set-up. Briscoe called Wasinger to take the case to protect Briscoe from getting sued for malpractice, not to really help my uncle. They hoped the statute of limitations would run out before my uncle ever realized he could sue. My uncle won $750K for Maune's action, (in a jury trial!!), and then Maune appealed it all the way to the MO Supreme Court. They tried to defeat my uncle, but he wouldn't quit. He died still fighting. The Supreme Court sent it back to Briscoe to settle. Finally the family won and the Estate of Briscoe settled. Their tactic was to make it difficult so my uncle would quit. He made sure the fight continued after his death because he believed "right" should triumph over "wrong." Then Amy Ohnemus handles the estate, moving to hide Briscoe's assets from the public, because he has another malpractice case, which he is also losing. I don't understand how it is ethical for Wasinger to represent the estate when their own attorney acted unethically to harm my uncle. They circle the wagon for their own, meaning attorneys, not clients. So in normal speak, now Wasinger is trying to hide money so victims of Briscoe's actions are not compensated. Luckily my uncle was honest and hard working, and the good guy finally won. As attorneys their first responsibility is to their client. PERIOD. Hiring a law firm that is looking out for other attorneys first is not a firm anyone should hire. read more

Neil Maune swung the suit back to John Briscoe once the court awarded $750K against him and after dragging the family through the mud for years, the Briscoe boys finally settled. When a jury trial and even by John Briscoe's own admission, he dropped the ball on filing an appropriate beneficiary deed.....see case.net 24RL-PR00003 and 20LE-CV00238-01 and funny after they knew Briscoe was guilty on this, Wasinger sends their attorney Amy in to help hide Briscoe's assets. The local good ol' boys are clearly looking out for themselves and not their clients and as you can see in the Dannenhauer case where what questions are there to discover after 8 years and a jury trial and the Missouri Supreme court ruling? They may have law degrees but certainly no ethics. And if Neil Maune didn't know Briscoe could be sued on 4 items......really question if he is qualified to be an attorney. Neither answer is a good one here. He either did it on purpose or is a really, really, really, really bad lawyer. read more

If you expect contact with your attorney and/or any information related to your case then I would NOT retain James Terrell as your attorney. We found out more about my husband's child support modification case on the Missouri Case.net web-site than we ever received from Mr. Terrell. Phone messages and emails (which he stated was the best way to reach him) all went unanswered. No notice was ever given if he was going to send another attorney is his place for a court hearing and everything he did was last minute. If he needed information, he would contact us the day before it was needed and then it was a last minute scramble to get the information to him prior to the court submission deadline. My husband was referred to Mr. Terrell by a close friend and we were so disappointed on how he handled our case. When the new child support amount was settled out of court my husband's ex-wife did not submit the paperwork. My husband had no idea what to do, should he make the appropriate changes through the Child Support Payment Center with the new support amount or wait for the court documents to go through. He tried to contact Mr. Terrell several times and his calls were never returned. My husband had to call the County Court Clerk and the Child Support Payment Center in order to figure out what he should do. It is a complicated story (1/2 the child support was going to the ex-wife and 1/2 the support was going directly to my 20 year step-daughter) but when the ex-wife finally submitted the paperwork she had cheated my step daughter out of $700. Had Mr. Terrell advised my husband on what to do, maybe this could have been prevented as the ex-wife will not pay my step-daughter the $700 in overpayments she received. Going to court and dealing with a crazy self-absorbed greedy ex-wife is difficult enough...you don't need an attorney that adds to the craziness and frustration. read more
