I really don't like to give a bad review, but I want to be honest and let people know about my experience at Washington Radiology. I don't want anyone having to go through the frustration that I went through. Washington Radiology has been my trusted healthcare facility for the past 13 years. They do my yearly mammograms. The front desk has always been organized and helpful. The employees at the front desk have been kind, professional, and supportive. The technicians are top tear. They are very supportive,professional, and respectful. I have given this office 5 stars for the past 3 years. This year, is the first time I have had an issue with the results from my mammogram. I had called 4 times and waited for over ten days, over a 2 week period to speak with the facility about my mammogram results. After, 4 calls and ten days, I was able to speak to the office manager, Kimberly Scott! She said she hadn't received my prior messages. She assured me that there was nothing wrong with my mammogram. She is a very nice person, but when you want to speak with a medical professional, the doctor who read your mammogram, you should be able to do so. I was told that the doctor was very busy, she would email the doctor, but there was no guarantee that the doctor would get back to me. So, let's go over this once more, I have gone to this office for over ten years. I have never asked for any help. But, this time after spending over 4 hours trying to reach anyone, but a switchboard, which is unable or unsuccessful in trying to reach the location...I am told by the business manager, that the doctor is too busy to call me? So, after undue frustration, I finally received a call from the doctor, which was 3 weeks after I had begun trying to reach her. I should have had a return call from the doctor with in 24-48 hours from my first call. The businesses reluctance to place calls directly to the location, they are handled by an answering service. That kind of service is not acceptable. So, in summary, if nothing is wrong with you, then by all means go to this location. But, please note, that if you ever have a question or an issue, getting through to a doctor is almost impossible. And, you might not want the stress and anguish involved. read more

The entrance to this location is facing I-270 so when you come into the plaza it is in, you want to head to the back. There are several spaces designated for WRA (2 hours) and if you can't find a spot, head to the garage below (first 2 hours are free and you are sharing the space with others business in the plaza). The lobby is never busy whenever I visit, and my appointments never take forever. I always get great service from the employees here. Overall experience is usually top notch. read more

Be prepared to wait an hour at this place. They double book appointments and sometimes only have one person checking people in. Several times they have taken multiple people back before me who got there after I did. Don't believe their website that these mammograms are comfortable, they're not. If you end up needing a biopsy, talk to the doctor before the procedure about where she plans to do it. I have a visible scar that I feel like could have been avoided if she'd inserted the needle from the side rather than the top, but she didn't even mention that the biopsy needle would leave a scar. The positives: The technicians are kind and compassionate. Parking is free and the location is convenient. Scheduling appointments is easy on their website. read more

Terrible customer service. Tried many times to schedule an MRI and no one even answered the phone. After a third or fourth try, someone answered, took all of my information and then said they would call me back. (What?!) They called back 2 days later when I was at work, left a message and hung. When I tried again, it was same terrible routine. It just feels the staff is completely uninterested in helping anyone. read more

I had a test in January 2024. WR insisted that this was not covered by insurance and made me pay in advance. I did so. It turns out that insurance did cover it and WR owes me a refund. I've been chasing that refund with their offshore billing department for 18 months and still no refund. NIGHTMARE!!! read more

The first thing to be aware of is that you have to pay for parking if you go here. They do not validate parking. Also, the parking lot is usually packed in the early morning. One last thing about parking, it's not on a flat surface. It's a bit hilly in some places. The facility is on the ground floor near the entrance. It looks to be clean and fairly up to date. The room I was in could have used some updating. The staff greeted me when I went in and had me sign in. It's one of those places where you have to complete paperwork in person. I engaged with the sonographer and the doctor who would read the images. Both were professional and had a good bedside manner. My test results were received by my doctor in time for my follow-up appointment, which was 2 weeks after imaging. At this time, I have not received my results from Washington Radiology. There are 2 issues I had: The gowns are one size fits most and not the most comfortable. And, the bathrooms are down the hall. So, while you are wearing the ill-fitting gown you have to walk down the hall and past the room full of staff to use the bathroom. Not a comfortable feeling. read more

I've gone to WRA for many years. Solis bought WRA and Solis is owned by a private equity firm. My doctor had to send request for a mammogram two times and had to call 3-4 times for the results. I had my mammogram Aug 8, and have not received my copy. By the way, I have no idea who read my mammogram. My doctor's copy was signed with some letters and a desk number. I had a mammogram in June and had to wait for 90 minutes. Then I had an ultrasound in July and had to wait for 2 hours! One time I could chalk it up to having a bad day but twice now! No thank you. There are so many other places to get imaging done. My time is valuable to me but obviously not to them. read more

Absolutely do not use Washington Radiology. I had a mammogram there in November 2024 and paid my portion while insurance covered the rest. Despite this, I've been receiving a $2,000 bill every month since. Each time I manage to reach someone in billing, I'm told it's a mistake, they apologize, and assure me it will be resolved. Yet here we are, and now the bill has gone to collections. I've been told multiple times that a supervisor will call me back, but one is never available, and no one follows through. It has been incredibly frustrating and nearly impossible to get this resolved. read more

I've had good experiences with mammograms here, but trying to schedule an MRI here is frustration itself. The designated scheduler doesn't return calls, the main operators leave you on permanent hold, and when, unable to reach a human, you try to leave a voice mail, mailboxes are perpetually full. read more

Terrible experience. Staff was nice, but whomever is in charge of billing is awful. Was sent three bills, every time I called and asked about it, was told it "was a coding issue, do not worry about paying your bill, we will work this out". THREE TIMES I received yet another bill, I would call, they would tell me it was an issue and I did not need to pay. The last time I called, the agent told me they would put my account on a hold, they were working out the coding issue, and that I should not see another invoice, and that the payment was NOT DUE. I inquired if I needed to worry about being reported to collections for non payment, and I was ASSURED this was not the case. Imagine my utter surprise when a collections agency called demanding the whole of the bill, as I had been referred for non payment. The absolute ineptitude of billing appropriately, and the clear lack of competence in the billing/coding area is enough to avoid ever using Washington Radiology ever again. read more

I've been going to this location since 2010. The staff have always been nice and professional. Out of all the Washington Radiology locations, I like this one the most. Although Yelp says they are closed on Saturdays, they are open limited hours. I believe it's mostly for MRIs but they let me schedule my mammogram. Bonnie was my tech today. Very friendly, calming and informative. Always nice when the tech shows they care! read more

Let's start with the upselling and heavy sales pressure of upgrading to a Breast MRI that is not covered by insurance. Refusal to do a ultrasound which is covered by insurance and scripted by the physician. This has occurred twice. This year the billing process is a complete mess. The bill sends you to is a weird scammy looking page and is NOT the same as the landing page if you go to billing on the Washington Radiology webpage. You cannot get to billing from their main phone number because it is disconnected. I had to call the appointment line to confirm the phone number for billing. What makes it seem even more scammy is that the website they send you to makes you log into YET another website that you don't have access to which makes you feel like you are being scammed and providing your personal information away. Paid with my credit card instead of HSA so I can always revoke funds. I will not be going back!!! read more

Particularly with something as sensitive as interpreting a mammogram, every patient should have the ability to see a doctor of their choosing. But I just learned the strangest thing about Washington Radiology: you effectively cannot schedule an appointment with a particular doctor. I was so relieved when I found Dr. Chow; I really trust her, and she was so much better than other doctors I'd had for mammograms in the past. It means a lot to me to go back to her for follow up. But when I tried to schedule a follow up 2 months in advance, I was told they don't make up the doctors' schedules more than a few weeks out (the doctors work across several of Washington Radiology's locations). So while they could schedule me, they had no idea who the doctor would be. They advised to call back closer to the appointment to see if by chance Dr. Chow would be working at the site I'd chosen on the day of my appointment. When I did so, she was not scheduled, nor did she have any openings at all in the schedule as far as they had it, in any location I could get to. The scheduler was sympathetic and obviously frustrated with the situation herself - this must be a problem they encounter frequently. She said that by the time the schedule comes out, appointments are booked up tight from people scheduling blind, so if you want a particular doctor, you have to keep calling as frequently as possible to see if there's a cancellation. I'm really at a loss, I guess I'll just keep calling daily. This is NOT what patients should have to do simply to see their chosen provider, nor is it efficient for the folks doing the scheduling. There is also no way to reaching the scheduling line without listening to a *super long* voice message with general info and Covid protocols. In short, exceedingly frustrating and disappointing. read more

They are located at the back of the parking lot and not facing the street so if you're following the GPS, head towards the back of Harris Tetter parking lot and they're in the same building as the bank (across from HT). I needed a brain MRI done, for the first time in life, so I was somewhat nervous but my experience was great. I walked in to a smiling friendly face, provided my insurance, referral paperwork, and license. Was seated in the waiting area which is fairly large and comfy and within 5 mins, a tech came to take me to the MRI section. I walked in, got undressed from the waist up behind a curtain, put my belongings in a locker, took the key and sat for the tech to prep my vain (MRI w/ and w/o contrast). Walked over to the MRI behind another door, took my shoes off laid back and completed the procedure. Luckily I'm not claustrophobic. I was in and out within about an hour. The staff was helpful afterward as well. I must have called them 3 times to have my results sent to 3 different doctors (Primary, OBGYN, Endocrinologist) & they did so without giving me any trouble. Buyer beware! I've been going to Washington Radiology for my annual mammogram for more than 20 years. Today, when I arrived to the North Potomac office, I was told their computer system was down and my name was not on their hardcopy list. They asked if I had scheduled my appt online. When I said yes, the reply was, "Oh, that system really doesn't work." Huh?!?! I took off from work and drove 45 mins and all you have to say is that a scheduling program on YOUR website, "really doesn't work." They refused to fit me in and shrugged their shoulders as I walked out the door. Luckily, there are plenty of other imaging service providers out there. Reading the other reviews of the past two years, looks like the cavalier attitude towards patients has become a corporate feature not a bug. read more

I've been having mammograms annually since my twin had a double mastectomy four years ago. I've gone to various locations based on whatever insurance I had at the time. This was the first time I've had the procedure done without ending up in tears. Patty, my technician, was gentle and kind. Check in was easy (don't forget to bring the order from your doctor and/or the scans from your last procedure if it was done at another location) I recommend this place and I will be back. read more

Well I have been to the Potomac Location 5 or six times. . . today they made me reschedule a routine mamogram for a diagnostic mamogram-stating I hadnt been there since the prior Oct. I was there appt on April 6th, an appointment that they made me wait 1 hour and 15 minutes before sending me back for services-then to be told that they would do what the could because I was late for the appt. I wasn't LATE I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment-but the intake clerk, she was in a hurry to go to lunch and didn't process my arrival correctly so I waited and waited and waited. Today I arrive and they have NO record of the April 6th appt so I had to reschedule (after spending 45 minutes each way in traffic), for the diagnostic appointment. Each time I go to this location I start from scratch I am NEVER in the system (even though I have been there at least 5 times), they NEVER address me by my correct name, and I usually have to repeat my date of birth 3 times... I need a new radiology group this is insane. Not to mention they "find" more things wrong with me and do a biopsy to find NOTHING. Very frustrated with this firm. read more

I have been having my routine mammograms at this office for several years and have been quite satisfied with their service apart from their always running about 45 minutes to an hour late. Today, however, I was quite upset by their cavalier attitude to precautions relative to the COVID-19 pandemic. I have been to three other medical facilities in the past week, and all three, including another radiologist, were excellent in their cleaning of surfaces, keeping patients separate and making them feel that the office had their safety in in hand. At this office, there were two sets of double entry doors, with a staff member seated at a table In between the two sets of doors. She was untidy and sloppy in her behavior, although pleasant enough. She took my temperature and asked the usual prescribed set of questions re my exposure to the virus. She then told me to take a seat inside and said I would be called to the counter within a few minutes. Although the seats were a scant 6 feet apart, there were far more people in the waiting area than I had encountered anywhere else. This seems to be because there is such a long delay prior to appointments. I was uncomfortable being indoors near so many others for such a long time. After 40 minutes I still had not been called up. I went back through the doors to the first woman and told her I didn't like being in that closed space with so many people for so long, and that I would go back to my car to wait. She said I could not as I would be called up in a few minutes. I went in again and was called up, soon after. Unlike the other offices I had visited, there was no partition between the patient and the office staff, and when the assistant handed me the paperwork to fill in, she gave the supporting board a cursory partial dab and handed it to me in such a way that I had to hold it on the uncleaned part. When she gave me a pen, I asked if I could please have a disinfected pen. She said it was a cleaned pen and they put used pens back in a separate container, but that was all beneath the counter where I couldn't see anything. At other offices, pens were visible on the counters with two clearly marked containers for clean and used pens. All the time I was there, I never once saw anyone disinfect anything, not even the much used door handles, chairs or countertops. There was a bottle of hand sanitizer on the counter, the only sign of cleanliness. I waited quite a bit longer, but went out to my car. When I brought up my discomfort with the radiographer, she was very defensive and asked me if I had read the CDC recommendations. She went on and on lecturing me about how they didn't have to clean anything more than once an hour and the lecture didn't stop until I took a step toward the mammogram equipment to get away from her. If you are elderly or have an underlying risk factor, I advise you to go elsewhere for your mammogram. I certain will not put a foot in that office again. I only gave three stars because my treatment there in the past has been satisfactory. My husband, a medical professor and researcher, advised me to write this review. read more

I would highly recommend going to this location if you need a mammography done. I've been coming here for a number of years and decided it was about time to write a review. The moment you walk in the door you are welcomed by friendly, efficient staff at the front desk who check you in. Radiologist Camille gets an extra special shout out in my book for being very compassionate, friendly and competent so that the entire stressful process of the testing is much easier to handle. This is so key to anxious patients like myself. Dr. Lin who interprets the reports is excellent as well. I should also mention that the wait time is reasonable since patients are processed quickly. read more

I've been having my mammograms at WRA in Potomac for several years. The mammogram staff have always been pleasant and kind, and have treated me well. I had to have an MRI for the first time this year. I was nervous about being in the tube. The technician put a pillow under my legs, for which I was grateful, and she gave me both earplugs and headphones. She was pretty no nonsense - didn't go out of her way to exchange pleasantries or anything, but it was fine, and I felt relaxed enough. I liked the natural light in the MRI room. I might have felt more claustrophobic if the room hadn't had windows. The location is very close to where I live, so I can walk and avoid the parking fee. read more

Yeah, it's kind of funny to say "I'm a fan" of a radiologists' office. But as far as options go, this was a good choice. Parking here is free, access off 270 is simple. The MRI machine is located in a room that has real windows to the outside world, meaning you see natural sunlight, which is a very nice change from being in windowless environments. The staff is nice. And the radiologist had submitted his/her report to my doctor in less than 12 hrs time (!). Plus, because this office is located in the same building as Founding Farmers, you can treat yourself to a good meal after your exam! read more

June 2015 I have nothing but the very best to say re Washington Radiology Associates at the Park Potomac Avenue location, Potomac, MD. The Front Desk Staff were very professional and efficient. All personnel including nurses and staffers that worked with me to help get me onto the bench (I am a paraplegic) were absolutely super! The Office Manager, along with the nurses and staffers, were professional, patient, friendly, productive, more than capable, competent and kind. My doctor was great in explaining the results of my tests. I highly recommend this mammography office to any and all needing radiology services. Thank you. read more

Make sure they have your doctor's fax number before you leave the building. Don't assume that because the fax number is clearly written on the MRI order from the doctor that these idiots will pay attention to it. Instead they will just drop it in snail mail to your doctor instead of looking on the doctor's order or calling you to get the fax number. Stupid or lazy - take your pick. read more

Zero star. Worst experience ever had for mammogram. Went there for a mammogram per my ob/gyn's instruction for a diagnostic mammogram on a lump she's been following. The tech was friendly however uninformed. I'm telling her it's a small lump, but she continues to refer to it as dark spot and asked if I've seen a dermatologist, despite my explaining to her that I don't have any discoloration/ pigmentation. She apparently gave the radiologist her expert opinion, as the radiologist walked in and blurted out,"it's the skin," before he even examined me or did the ultrasound. Obviously they already have the diagnosis of skin condition then why proceed with breast ultrasound which lasted for total of 1 second only to make him sound incompetent by exclaiming afterward, " it's a cyst." Schedule an appt with WRA if you want your breast lump/mass diagnosed by the tech as a skin problem and that you ought to go see a dermatologist and by radiologist who will just take someone else's word and doesn't exercise his own medical judgement, then by all mean get your mammogram done there. read more

While the offices and staff are very nice, I question the ability of the radiologists to read MRIs. I had an MRI in October. The radiologist's report to my doctor was tendonitis. I still had pain after treatment so had another MRI in April. The radiologist's report to my doctor was a ligament tear. It seemed strange to my doctor and me that, in six months of wearing a brace, doing no exercise other than physical therapy, I would experience a ligament tear. My doctor called the radiologist. Guess what?! There was a minor tear in the images from October but it was not reported. Now the tear is worse. I am in a boot cast for 6 weeks. Thanks WRA, thanks a whole lot. read more

I am not an easy person to please and I have no investment in this practice nor do I know anyone affiliated with it. Have used WRA for decades and my experience has not always been great (Bethesda) where I had a couple of irritable techs and one truly insane radiologist. However, I very much like Park Potomac where I've been going for annual mammos since they opened. I'm posting to recognize a couple of employees who really shine. Hope WRA checks reviews here. I received a call back for a mammogram a few wks ago through my gyn who received a report from WRA. I was frightened. Called WRA to set up an appointment. Then called back once I settled down a little to talk to someone about what had been seen. They immediately put me through to a nurse. She was great, let me know what she could and helped me calm down a bit. She gets the first *star*. Once I did a little research, I called back a couple of days later to ask a question or two and was put through again to the nurse. Not sure if she was the same one, but yet another topnotch individual. She was once again, kind, reassuring and helpful. Yesterday, I went for my callback appointment. I so hoped the tech who came for me would be nice. It isn't that I've had bad experiences with techs, but often, even here at PP, I sense their stress. I can imagine how the job could become tedious. I am the patient every tech adores as I don't make waves, don't complain about compression and just do what I'm told. When my name was called, I looked up to see a young woman whose lovely appearance matched her kind voice. From the moment we walked down the hall until she turned me over to the radiologist, she was nothing but compassionate, caring and extremely professional. She was not stressed, fake or phony in any way. Simply perfect. I tried to thank and compliment her but I was so anxious about the results, I know I sounded like an awkward dork! *Stephanie*, thank you for being exceptional. You are the prototype for a health care provider. If possible, please don't change! People like you are truly at a minimum out there and you are so needed and appreciated.
