You have a resource officer that flirts with underage little girls. Does not care about the law. Keeps kids from invoking their right as actual citizens. Officer Westbrook is a absolute joke of any kind of officer of the law. Anybody who sees him fit is an absolute idiot. My son beat the crap out of a bully and got arrested. When he asked for his parents to be involved. He denied him that right. Evidently the Washington police don't care either because the chief of police was contacted and he didn't care whatsoever. Officer Westbrook is a plague upon the community and should not be an officer. He should be working at McDonald's Boston other little kids around and flirting with them read more

Only focus on policy not on child protection. They only care about themselves not about the children that attend the school. There are so many counselors and or deans plus a principal that do nothing just get paid. This is an absolute farce to the state of Illinois read more

This discourages motivated students from challenging themselves, while others advance without improvement. The Spanish program specializes doesn't allow students to progress half as much as they should, as even-year classes are only meant to review the previous year. The administration often seems to make decisions without prioritizing student well-being. Medical needs are frequently ignored or contested, and discipline policies are counterproductive. for instance, students can be sent to auditorium detention for being even slightly late to first period, which causes them to miss the entire class. Staff sometimes go back on their word, whether about serious issues or small questions. Some policies are also mismanaged or wasteful. The school spent over $250,000 on Yondr pouches to limit phone use, even though most students bypass them by breaking them, and teachers often allow phones in secret To address vaping in bathrooms, they locked four out of five bathrooms, forcing kids to walk across the entire school and miss extra class when they need to go. Also never stocked w feminine products. At mealtimes, breakfast or pizza runs out before all students are served. Breakfast is usually packaged treats. And kids are forced to take foods they won't eat of which some can be tossed into a bin at the end of the line, but making an effort to reuse solid foods (like apples) is kinda gross because now they've just touched people's hands for no reason. Assemblies can be inappropriate, many times girls are straight up twerking onstage. Student council members even twerked at the freshman mixer to "excite kids somehow" some teachers have made sexual comments that are unprofessional and uncomfortable for a school environment, especially given the age of the students. (Not about students, but regarding content from in class) Now many teachers were genuinely good and caring and the social environment can be fun, but the combination of low academic standards, inconsistent administration, and poorly managed policies significantly detracted from the overall experience. There was lots of cyberbullying. Also kids have been caught having sex in the school w/o much punishment and people have snuck in knives

The nimrod who wrote the only other review managed to somehow be completely wrong at every level…read more As a student who attended the school, I can attest that 1) the school has extensive community outreach programs, 2) is not just one small building, nor was it in 2021, 3) there aren't "surrounding neighborhoods", 4) The only time I've never seen kids outside at the school were when it was negative 20F, 5) its not at an obscure location, 6) there is near constant advertising, 7) being so desperate as to try to paint a school you clearly know nothing about as a Waco-esque cult is hilariously stupid. Cornerstone is a damn fine school with great people. Not really any better middle or highschool in the area. And having kids go there for 14 years isn't bizarre given that they offer pre-k and daycare.

The one small building, its obscure location, and lack of public knowledge lead me to believe that these children are in danger. I have seen the Scientology documentary and fear for the safety of my peers. Quotes such as "my children have been here for 14 years" prove that children are being trapped and forced into this cult. I know many members of the surrounding neighborhoods and they state that they have "never seen any of the children outside." The one encounter I did have with the students, they were seen wearing shirts that say "Cream City" on them, showing their disconnect with modern society and pop culture. As big a school as it is, and as 'affordable' as it may seem, and how convenient it all looks prospectively- it is exactly as it's labeled; a community college between a river and a corn field. I beg you, for as long as I had to suffer at this place, DO NOT ENROLL HERE. It may cost more, but going to another school will save you heartache, headache, and a few panic attacks.

The kids are taught to cook, bake, they have music and Spanish class, and they are encouraged to participate in a lot of outdoor creative play. In two days she learned through song the days of the week and the months. The teachers do a wonderful job of paying close attention to your child so if they appear sick or get a rash, it doesn't go unnoticed. The teachers love their students and pour themselves into their kiddos. If you're looking for a part time or full time preschool, Mulberry is highly recommended!
