My washing machine broke a year ago and i needed to get my sons school uniform washed and some of my work gear etc, and my mum said go to a laundrette ....... well i thought id give it a whirl.
And to be honest it was an experience, taking my black bag with clothes in, i was slightly nervous to begine with as there was about four old ladies in there and the stares i got when i first walked in, i nearly just turned around, but before i could do that, one of the ladies said, you look like you are new to this, love she then went on to show me how to work the machine, she was agreat women, i found out later that she actually works there and provides all types of cleaning service in there also.
I put the washing on and then went over the road to the shop, got myself a magazine and a bag of malteesers and chilled out for an hour while my washing and drying was done, it was really nice, i got a loverly hour of peace and quiet, the ladies were loverly and ended up having a really good chat with them, they explain that this laundrette was also apart of their social life as well as getting their undies washed.
There are six machines and then four dryers, they are all big in size, and i think the cost was a pound per machine.
It was very very clean with a few chairs in order to sit down, and the smell of fresh laundry is loverly.
I think that in emmergencies then this place is great. read more
