The Probate took over 11 months! I was told that if uncontested it should not take longer than 6-7…read moremonths. The reason that this probate law office took so long is due to them 'forgetting' about it!!! My father passed away with a Will, and as the sole beneficiary I found I had to find a Probate attorney. I contacted Gresham Law, Patton Echols. Initially, his assistant, Kay setup my first appointment, confirmed. I arrived, and he didn't, until another attorney helped me, and we called him. He thought it was the next day?! He arrived an hour after appt time. Please note for future probate customers: - Keep him on task, he likes to converse at $250 hr (Kay's cost $125hr, but if she contacts Patton, then your question/work is transferred to his rate). There wasn't any overview of paperwork to see the outline of procedures at the first meeting. Kay sent later: very confusing with messy verbiage outline - Call often to check on process! If they say it will take 2 weeks, call them in 2 weeks! The office forgot about my probate several times, and literally for 3 months one time. . . It was not a good experience, as I was going through shock, grief and mourning. The good news is that it's finished!:)
