We were looking for a place to eat in town as we passed through. We picked a winner! Neither of us are really familiar with Thai food so I was going to try the old faithful, chicken pad Thai. The owner was taking our order and suggested we try something different. We deferred to his selection for us. I have no idea what we got but it was incredible! Fresh food and no MSG. This is the place to go in town for great food. Listen to the owner, he knows what you need!! read more

Wasana Restaurant - Some red curry with shrimp. Incredible! - Thai Near Me - Brooks, Alberta

We are traveling from Minnesota to Banff, Alberta and stopped overnight in Brooks AB. We saw Wasana Thai on Yelp and cannot recommend it highly enough. This is a small, family owned business and both the food and the service was wonderful. My wife has the veggie Pad Thai and I had the Shrimp Pad Thai. Both dishes were ample and delicious. If stopping in Brooks be sure to try Wasana Thai. read more

Kam is very friendly, and they make helpful suggestions to navigate their menu. From basic Pho to coconut based curry, most of their dishes taste fresh and light and they make them as spicy as you want. read more

Brooks is a small place and it was good this place existed. Thanks for your food. What does Wasana mean? read more

Good food and really friendly service! My mom is on a strict low-sodium diet and they were able to accommodate her dietary restrictions (steamed chicken and vegetables on rice no sauce). read more

Found this place among the top Yelp recommended and it was as good as expected. Simple authentic interior design, very friendly staff and delicious food. We have ordered several different meals for the family - every single one of them was great. I had a soup from the picture on the menus that was one of the best Thai soups I had. The beauty of the small place like this is that you are getting fresh and delicious meal with homemade accent flavours. Totally recommended! read more

This is a prime example of why Canada is great. Here is an authentic Thai restaurant in the middle of the plains of Alberta and it's good. The owner is a sweetheart and even though you can't get all the same vegetables as grow in Thailand, it's the best approximation while maintaining the essence of Thai taste. And when you ask for Thai spice level, he delivers!! read more

This is a must try if you are in Brooks. We were a group of 11 from Vancouver that was stopping in Brooks overnight after a day at the Dino Provincial Park. We had enough of burgers and fries and wanted something Asian and ethnic. Coming from Vancouver and having the opportunity to taste very good food, Wasana, was comparable to very good Thai food in Vancouver. The restaurant is owned and operated by Kam, his wife and son. Kam is an awesome host and spent time talking to us and making sure we had enough to eat. The wife is from Thailand and cooks truly authentic dishes. We had the Tom Yum soup, Basil Beef, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Green Curry, sweet and sour chicken, bacon fried rice and Papaya Salad. All were super tasty and would highly recommend to anyone wanting an authentic Thai experience! read more

Best Asian cuisine I've had in an age. What a gem. Don't judge it on the decor! Perfectly judged spices and friendly owner!

Wasana is a family owned and operated restaurant. Kam, the owner, will almost always be your server. Kam's wife can be found in the kitchen creating some of the most delicious Thai food you will find anywhere. The hot and sour soup is a can't miss dish. The salad rolls are made fresh with the freshest ingredients and are fantastic. If you are in Brooks around the noon hour stop at Wasana for their lunch buffet. Be careful of the curry pork, whew, she's a hot one! Enjoy. read more

I have only ever eaten from Wasana's lunch buffet. However, I worked with someone who is a regular, and I now know why. Kam, the owner, is very outgoing, friendly, and genuine, caring person. Everything is made fresh daily: he can take you into his kitchen to show you. It is also delicious! A good mix of vegetarian, vegan and meat based options. I will be going back here when I am in Brooks next. read more

A diamond on the rough. A hidden gem. The green curry was amazing. Warm, perfectly spiced with the exact amount of sauce to soak into the rice. Waiter/owner was conversational, helpful and friendly. It was an extremely enjoyable meal. Decore was simple but very tasteful. Spruce up the diner type atmosphere and it would be fit for a king. read more

The food was excellent , who'd think that in rural Alberta you'd find an Asian restaurant with such good eats.

Hidden gem. Our family loved it. From the outside it looks like nothing special, but inside the decor is fun, and the food is great. You won't be disappointed. read more

Really enjoyed our " take home ". Green Curry & Yellow Curry. Basil Prawns. Very tasty. The food even stayed hot. Nothing worse than cold Asian food. The owner is a real sweetheart. Would like to try the Pad Thai. read more

Nice crispy, chicken wings followed by Pad Thai - fresh ingredients, perfect heat (one chili). Brooks has food! Who knew? read more

Certainly not the cheapest food but very easy to see why once you've tasted it. Worth every penny! I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

A truly outstanding and authentic Thai restaurant tucked away in the quiet prairie town of Brooks. This is not to be missed if you are fond of either Thai cuisine or Thai culture. I love both and never miss a chance to enjoy them here. The food is always excellent and the service is personable and genuinely caring. Just like in Thailand they insist on fresh ingredients. Beware however, if they get to know you and you ask for your food prepared with an authentic amount chiles, you want to be ready for it. This is a treat not to be missed!!!! read more
