I've been a member on and off at Brickz since 2018. It's amazing! I love the class style workouts…read more The trainers are great! It's definitely more of a community than a gym. They opened a wellness next door that offers different recovery options. The massage with Liz is excellent. Definitely try out both locations

In my opinion…read more.. Cons: *grab your popcorn* -The first turn off was signing up for a trial class- at 5 am, and being told when I got there my spot was taken by paying members. -The second was walking into the gym and after doing body scans (InBody) they show you a picture of womens' midsections and body fat and ask you "which do you want your body to look like?" This was SUCH a turn off for me but for some reason I decided to give it a chance. I understand a metric is needed and this may work for a lot of people, seems like it does, but it was just so ick to me as well as unrealistic. -Turns out this is one of those money maker gyms that talks in circles and confuses you to make you think you are signing up for the 6 week program they say they are putting you on, only for me to attempt to cancel within the 15 days request period and learn the contract I signed was apparently for a 12 months! READ THE FINE PRINT AND GET A COPY OF YOUR CONTRACT!! I feel like this whole situation was crafted in a distinct way to no allow you to understand fully, to sign, and to not give you a copy of your contract but think you got away with a good deal/membership. -The gym was unfriendly and unwelcoming. They have a good facade going making it seem like they are into building community. They have group hikes, bike rides and spirit days, but when it came to time inside the gym my experience was that no one cared if I was there or not. I don't need to be best friends with everyone or anyone for that matter, but especially when working out before the crack of dawn a "Hi" or 'Hello" goes a long way. That's a big factor in wanting to come back to a gym, especially a small one like this. This is not your big box gym after all. At minimum the coaches should offer a greeting. The group I trained with was very clicky. I will say the afternoon groups seemed to be more welcoming. After making my feelings on the matter known to the gym owner it seemed there had been a coaches meeting or something because I got more "Hi's" and "How are you's?" from the staff in my last week there then in my previous 5 weeks combined. -The 6 week program: overall fine, but be wary of the nutrition program. I feel like it was portrayed as they would give you meal plans and/or outlines and what to eat. They give you a list of foods to eat and everyone gets the same foods and eats the same amount. That's the plan. -When you sign up for strength classes you are allotted a time slot which is yours for the day and time you sign up for each week. Fine. What is annoying is that if you can't make that time they don't have an app where you can change your time to or a mindbody type thing where you can swap. You text the coaches to see if there is room in the class you want to be in. This is SUPER ANNOYING because most of the time I don't' know who is coaching what class so then they are texting each other to see if it's ok OR they just say "I'm sure it'll be fine" Which would maybe be fine if I didn't get booted out of my first attempt at class and I'm not trying to wake up and be at the gym at 5am to not get to do the workout I signed up for or was told it would be fine to to come to! Pros: -Clean facility -Good equipment -Workouts were nice Overall I would not recommend. I think they are in it for the money and while we were able to come to a "compromise" for the agreement I signed there were so many red flags I should've listened to. I chose Brickz because when I searched it was one of the only gyms I found with small group training. JUST BE CAREFUL, MAKE SURE YOU READ EVERYTHING AND THOROUGHLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR BEFORE YOU DO, AS WELL AS FEEL COMFORTABLE. Hopefully some of my frustrations will allow them to change some of their business practices.

Third try for a great Planet Fitness in Albuquerque and while this one was better than the last,…read moreit's still not the best. There was a little bit of wandering to find the entrance which may be more related to local sign/zoning ordinances than PF's intention. The logo over the door is faded from the sun and needs a refresh. Inside, a large workout area. The "thirty minute circuit" was spacious and easy to keep my cardio going in between the machines. A plus there. Locker room was reasonably clean. I've seen cleaner. Some papers on the floor but the shower was good. Hot water took a bit to get started but did show up. Changing stall was nice for privacy while getting undressed and dressed. I have to agree with Jordan's review - you can't miss Subway next door. The men's locker room and bathroom is pretty disgusting though unfortunately. I have been going for about a week and the same shaved hair and water bottle is still on the counter by the sink. On my first day there was someone smoking something in one of the stalls. The wall underneath the hand dryer is caked with some sort of gunk. Walls in the locker room could use a fresh coat of paint. Or a cleaning. If this review happens to get read by management, please just have the bathrooms cleaned more frequently. Everything else is great!

I want to be very clear: I value my integrity deeply and would never say anything that is not true…read more I find it offensive that you would even suggest otherwise, and that speaks volumes about your own character. If you have concerns about your reimbursement rate from the insurance company, that is an issue to address with them directly--not with the member. It is completely inappropriate to direct that frustration at me. Most importantly, the way you spoke to me was entirely unacceptable--especially as a professional addressing a woman. Due to the way I was treated, I will not be returning, and I will not engage in further discussion on this matter. This will be my final communication. I normally don't do reviews but I just had the worst experience at Snap fitness on Carmel from a person who appeared to be the manager. I had gone earlier in the week and had to manually check in. I went this morning and was greeted by the same man who opened the door. I was about to tell him my name and he said I know you. I lose money on your membership. I get access to snap fitness through Presbyterian health plan. When I went to the front desk, he proceeded to ask me why don't you come more often. I lose money on your membership in a very degrading voice and demeanor. He continued to repeat saying I lose money on your membership and was extremely frustrated by me even being there. I did nothing to provoke this man to speak to me in the manner in which he did or question why I don't go as often as he thinks I should. I walked away to the bathroom to compose myself and came back out and asked him how does he think it's okay to talk to a member the way that he spoke to me . I told him it was none of his business on the frequency of me going to the gym and I do not need to explain to him why or why not. I go there to improve my overall well-being and health. Him coming to me in a very aggressive manner saying that he loses money on my membership and why don't I come was completely out of line and unprofessional. I told him shame on him for treating his members in the way that he did and walked out.

I can't believe there are so few reviews for this gym/location…read more Well, my experience was good and was limited to 2 visits. That was not the fault of the gym. I moved to ABQ during Covid and I joined the gym but could not get into the mental space required to wear a mask doing a workout. Then I procrastinated... I thought I would go during the night since it's open 24/7 but that did not happen. I have since left this gym - but I do want to impart the following: 1. The staff was very efficient and welcoming. 2. The process to sign up was easy. Everything came to me via email and electronic signature. 3. The facilities are very clean. 4. There is plenty of parking. 5. Everything was in working order. 6. As mentioned, you can access the gym with your key card at any time. 7. They have soft cloths and cleaning fluid (non-toxic) that you can use to clean equipment as you move from cardio equipment and weight machines. I loved this because everything was clean and yet there was no paper towel waste either. The only drawback for me, and partially why I did not go more often, was due to the fact that I just felt like I stood out as an older adult in the place. I like to be more anonymous. This gym is on the small side and it is pretty obvious who is working out. There also is not a huge amount of cardio equipment - but then again, this gym is rarely crowded. I did like that too. I would go back again, and I do recommend this gym quite highly.

If you live in Albuquerque and you're looking for an exceptional place to achieve your fitness…read moregoals at any age or size, look no further! The leadership at this F45 is phenomenal, the community is welcoming, and the workouts are challenging and fun. It's hard work, but there's so much going on that the time absolutely flies by. We traveled to Albuquerque for Labor Day weekend to visit my In-laws. We usually stay at an Airbnb when we visit, but decided to stay at Springhill Suites this time. After a long day of travel with small children and a connecting flight mishap, we sat down for dinner at Cocina Azul next to the hotel. I glanced out the window, and I was shocked when I saw a sign for F45 among the list of businesses in the complex. In a beautiful coincidence, I had signed up for a membership at my local F45 in the Bay Area the day before we left for our trip, after I had been searching for the "right fit" in a gym for a while. The morning after I saw the F45 sign, I called F45 Albuquerque and spoke to Kendall, who I believe is the owner. I explained my situation and asked if I could pay as a drop in, and she generously offered to host me!! I took two classes: one with Stephanie and the other with Stephanie and Bodhi. Stephanie was so welcoming. She went out of her way to look out for me and patiently help me with both form and logistics (moving to the correct stations). Bodhi helped me with a really challenging station, and taught me something game changing in just a few seconds! I am so grateful for this precious and unexpected gift. Thank you so much, Kendall. Run, don't walk, to this fantastic F45! And if you can't run easily right now, it's okay -- you're going to level up in your strength and endurance quickly at this wonderful gem of a gym!

And like all facilities, maintenance and renovations could be made accordingly to enhance the customer/member experience! However, after visiting and being treated so very well by upper management/supervision... it's this line staff who is just not up to par. The reception/front desk seriously has areas for improvement! As, they require coaching on how they speak, use facial expressions, and overall usage their body language to interact. Who are you to police and act poorly, roll eyes, and talk disparagingly about the customer when they walk away? Further far too much chit chat at the front desk, where is the busy work and checklists? Unfortunately, it's the ladies working from 4:00pm til closing at the front desk who have these attitudes. Really not acceptable! Call out if you are in a bad mood! Also management, if you have different hours i.e. your summer and winter hours, your line staff, front desk "concierge"should be advising this politely and always ready to greet the customer or member with warmth and respect. Not, "appeared bothered or annoyed " to have to do their job they receive a paycheck for!
