It wasn't going to be a big job, only about 56' of ornamental fencing and Penn Fencing scheduled our Estimator, Charlie to visit a few days after calling them in early March. We received the Estimate a few days later and the pricing was comparable to the other quotes we gathered. Penn Fencing came recommended to us by 3WS's Johnny Hartwell and we went with his advice and selected them for the work. It has only taken five (5) weeks for the materials to arrive and the install to be scheduled. Kevin and his two (2) man crew arrived promptly at 8:30am, to do the work and they were finished in about 90 minutes. No mess, no inconvenience, and they disposed of our old fencing for us. The fence looks great! I did have to go back and tighten a few screws, but it wasn't a big deal. We are very pleased with the job they did and would recommend them for your project.

Catalino even came out twice to remeasure the area after changes to our yard required a different fence placement. On installation day, Catalino and his team arrived early, well-prepared, and worked efficiently. The entire project was completed in less than two days. I would never recommend this company to anyone and advise you look into another fence contractor…read more Balland tried installing my vinyl fence on December 29, 2025 during, what had to be the worst possible day, cold, snowy, and very windy. Suffice it to say I had nothing but issues from day 1. To say I'm disgusted with John and Balland would be an understatement. Never let Balland fence install a fence in Dec., Jan., or any other month for that matter. It was a nightmare trying to get them to rectify the issues from the fence not being level, broken hinge caps, and a cracked gate post. Starting in late March and early April and several phone calls, I was able to get Balland to level the fence, but John said he had to order the hinge caps. The real problem began when I tried to get them to replace the cracked gate post damaged during the installation. I told them on May 11 and Maureen asked me to send pictures for John to look at, which I sent on May 12. After several follow up calls, Maureen advised that John saw them and he would be out to look at it the next week. Finally on August 13, John came out to look at the post at which time he said he was calling bullshit and that I caused the crack. I told him I had nothing to do with it, and after some back and forth conversation, John said he would replace the post and hinge caps and it would be the last time he would come here. Again, after numerous follow up calls, I received a call from Maureen that they would be here on 9/21. Two employees of Balland showed up late on the afternoon of 9/21 and replaced the gate post and hinge caps. The removed post had large cracks on 3 sides, proving I did not do it. I'm still not 100% satisfied, but I'M SURE IT WOULD DO NO GOOD TO SAY ANYTHING!!! Overall I would give John and Balland Fence Co. a 1/4 star rating and that's being generous. The company and John are unresponsive, lacking in customer service, lacking in courtesy and lacking in quality workmanship. If you need a fence put up, BEWARE OF THESE GUYS!!!
